Yeah, was drawn over to Woodward today. The Monaco was running real nice this morning and was begging for a roll down the strip. So....

Dump in 5 gals cause the gauge doesn't work! Long Lake and Woodward.

15 Mi. RD. The Hunter House. Best sliders in Michigan!
And, as I've mentioned before: this cruise is really more a parade of suvs and minivans.

And she stood right there, same pose, all three passes I made.

Early Vettes are still a fav.
IMG_1177.JPG

Surprised the weren't more of these.
IMG_1180.JPG

I guess this is the mid-way point of the Official cruise.

Motor City Break Down! Not a good look for the Mopar Club.
IMG_1186.JPG

Mopars of all sorts were out early. Had to include this shot. Dad's first company car was identical to this beige wagon.

Nice '63 Plym.
Not everything is an open pipe, ground thumping annoying mess.

And continued.
Duggan's Irish Pub. The epicenter of Dream Cruise Saturday. Local TV broadcasts from the upper deck.

What the hell!!!
IMG_1194.JPG

Actually looks pretty sweet!
IMG_1176.JPG

80 degrees & 70% humidity. Temperature gauge barely moved in stop & go traffic.
IMG_1196.JPG

Cruising in some bad company!
IMG_1198.JPG

And this beast behind me!
IMG_1199.JPG

Another '65.

Been there. Bought the shirt!
I'm not the sit around all day with the hood up kind.
I made the loop from 18 mi. to 12 mi. three times and was home by noon.
More importantly the Monaco ran great.
Oh! And I gotta get the new sound system installed. The only oldies on AM here come out of Windsor with a lot of static.

The GTO nearly overheated that year.

The Monaco ran like a Mopar should.

And this is still light traffic. Later this afternoon it will be packed. Eight lanes with bumper to bumper cars four miles long just crawling along. People will be lining the curb with most parking lots reserved for clubs and private parties.
And I ignored all the jalopies, open pipe rat-rods and silly stuff. A lot of the cars out here are not street legal or even have plates on them.

For those who have never been here.
This is the official extent of the cruise. From 8 Mile Rd. to the Pontiac loop must be about 14 miles.
In high school we cruised from the To-Tem Pole Restaurant around 10 Mile Rd. up to Ted's Drive In at Square Lake Rd.
The heavy red line is my preferred cruise route where all the action is.

Nice pics Dan! Nice to see my old girl cruising! I think it is funny you have not fixed the sending unit yet, I didn't do it in nearly 25 years, lol!

The car goes on jacks this fall for all new ss brake and fuel lines, a new tank & rebuilt sender. As I recall this car has the 3” brake pads. Have to replace them also.

Looks like a nice little Mopar gathering there Matt.
The only time I parked the car was at the Speedway to buy the shirt!

These are even better thanks to my wife!

I’ve added about 2500 miles since it left Jersey.
Really started driving it more since I rebuilt the front end and bought new tires.
The drivetrain is strong
That motor was always strong from the day I bought it. Funny about the mileage, I've put about 2200 on the Cordoba since I got it.
