How many on here have bought and enjoyed any of the aftermarket fibreglass hood scoops? I have a 66 Fury 3 and either have to cut the hood or do a removable one and I really hate the idea of cutting the hood but will do so. What companies have you used and how happy..
Thanks,
Dan

Also, I should include that I'm looking for a 5-6 inch or larger Hemi style scoop.

65-66 hoods are very similar, different hood ornaments and the 66 has the smaller Plymouth lettering but the hoods will fit either year. I have a nice 66 hood that is a spare that I plan to mount a scoop on and weld up the hood ornament hole. Running a sled city 65 race Hemi scoop on it.

This is just sat on my car so it's not level, 65 or 66 Fury , Sled City sells them for $650. I figured if the scoop is 300 the extra money to lose 110ish lbs was worth it.

Nice, as far as being held down? Pins/ Zeus screws or some kind of application like that?

The stance is perfect! Do you run a hood at all anymore? I'm debating on just keeping mine off vs spending the extra cash. The extesing hood springs should come right off without having to remove the fenders or cowl correct? Looks to be a pin that's pressed through holding it into place. Thanks again to everyones feedback!

I can't run a hood because of my carb height. My cowl wasoff anyhow (not hard to pull off) and I don't remember if it needed to be off.

I really want to run a hood, it's just more $$$$ to make happen.

The drop air cleaner and hood latches are on the way, shouldn't be long.

I agree! I have my stock one up against the wall, between the manifold, carb spacer and the total brigh of the carb I'm right above the cowl. Now add my air cleaner and I'm about 5 inch above that lol.
I may as well hold off on the hood, I may cut mine one day but need to upgrade the brakes, harness (seats) rear suspension and fuel system with bigger carburetor and so on. Thanks for ypur input, I sent you a FB message also today.
