1967 Newport custom fast top...painted the roof today....still wet and needs final sanding and buffing...but for my first lace job, I'm very happy with it. Its going to look great with the deep purple body color when its done.

Is there a technique to keeping the lace down to insure crisp lines.
A lot of tape....and a light coat of cheap hair spray on the back of the lace helps. Keep it pulled tight...but even all the way around...especially if you have long straight lines like mine.

Very nice "old school" custom paint work. I can't wait to see how the rest of the car turns out. Keep up the good work.

That's amazing ,,the talent here on this forum never ceases to amaze me.

Makes sense. I always wondered how the lace didn’t lift when it was sprayed allowing paint under it.
Looks good can’t wait to see the rest.

i have a feeling rest of the paint will be done very soon before the years end, i could be wrong.

The wife thinks so too....but at $116/qt for just the purple....it might take me awhile to save up for it. Besides...I still have to replace the trunk and lower quarters.
