If memory serves me correctly, Chrysler gave both Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope injected Imperials as part of the promo ad campaign. Frank Sinatra ended his relationship with Chrysler after the car proved to be a dud that could not be kept running. Not sure about Bob hope's.

Interesting. He looks pissed in that picture.

For anyone who is interested, Frank Sinatra and Chairman Lee of Chrysler did a long interview on the "merits" of the new FI Imperial. The Imperial club has the transcript. Sinatra got really pissed when his namesake edition Imperial was pilloried in the auto publications for being a bad design that was highly unreliable.

I'd be pissed too if some half lit hag came out of nowhere badgering me, when your just trying to get home.

Wrong!

That is Kay Stevens. She was part of Bob's 1965 USO Tour in Vietnam!!!

And Bob Hope was hitting it too!

I always wanted one of the J body themed Imperials. I love the styling...never could find the right one at the right time.

One of these Imperials with proper retrofit of a 5.7 modern hemi drivetrain would be an excellent ride! I'm just a bit too old to take on such a project any more.

5.7?

If you are going to go through all of that trouble....put a 6.4L in it. 485 HP.

Believe you me that thought has crossed my very mind. But was thinking more along of the 392. Then again the original 318 is just getting broke in at 140,000ish miles.
