It's the small box with 4 (?) connections going to it.

Forgot, it's on a 1970 Plymouth Fury III, 440 motor .
Thank you in advance,
Steve

I'm looking to replace this part on a 1973 440 motor. Looks like there are only 3 connections (2 plug ins and a red screw terminal) instead of the 4 connections on my 1970.

Keep the one on you 1970. No need to change it.

A starter relay with 3 terminals is for a stick shift car. 4 terminals is an automatic car.

The 4th terminal is for the neutral safety switch and is the brown with yellow stripe wire in the picture.

EDIT: Brown with yellow, not yellow... Sorry, I was tired.

Always watch out for that big terminal when working with tools in the area....better yet disconnect the battery.

As they say, "try not to die"....haha

Many thanks to everyone who replied! The pic is of my '70 Fury. I have another '73 Fury being worked on that has the motor uninstalled. Currently there are only 3 wires visible in the engine bay (2 plug-ins and the red screw connection). I suspect the 4th wire would be the ground screw connection. I do have a reprint of the Chilton(?) manual. Both are automatic.

No, not ground. The red wires are from the battery. Yellow goes to the ignition switch (note my correction above). Brown with yellow stripe to the neutral safety switch on the trans. #12 brown wire (other screw connection) goes to the starter. You are missing the brown one because the engine is out.

Chilton manuals pretty much suck. Download a '70 Plymouth factory service manual (FSM) from here: MyMopar - Mopar Forums & Information - MyMopar Tools/Reference No '73 Plymouth manual listed, but a '73 Dodge should be pretty close. Best to grab a CD FSM off eBay for that one. I've bought them from this vendor and been very happy with the copy. 1973 Plymouth Shop Manual CD Roadrunner Satellite Fury Barracuda Duster Valiant | eBay

You can also download a wiring diagram from MyMopar, but I trust the FSM more myself. Grab the parts manuals while you're there too.
