What do you think? Think I should try to by this at under $5K? Runs & drive but had dash burn-out.

if it runs and drives, you can't go wrong at $5K. Buy it and flip it worse comes to worse. The drop top automatically adds $1500 to the $3500 base price. Fix what needs fixing and you should be GTG.

Nice, blue blue with white top. If it's complete and you can't find rust / oversprayed bondo, you'll have a good deal at 4 grands

First the pros: The car appears to be a solid car with little rust - if any. The quarters look good and straight. The 440 engine is a plus. And its a convertible. BUT a thorough inspection of the car is required to verify the foregoing.

The cons: The dash wiring is gonna be a nightmare to trouble shoot and fix. The convertible top frame is either bent or broken somewhere. Looking at the under-hood photo, there appears to be some mickey mouse wiring, and some chebby guy painted the firewall black.

I would start with an offer of $3500 and go from there. . .

Sounds like a plan, thx.

The price is decent but I would be concerned with rust issues. Can you get a good look underneath. Check the trunk pans over well this car has been redone and there are some signs it may have not been done well. I think you may be able to adjust the top looks like the center bow is too high to start with. All depends what you want to do with it.

Am I right in thinking that the engine compartment should match the body color. My 64 NY'r did.

I agree with Rip as well, in all honesty, I redid all the wiring in my NY over the winter a few years back and it wasn't as taxing as I thought it would be for my first time. The hardest part was deciphering the damn wiring diagram. It looked like brain surgery to me after the first couple of glances, but I started with one wire at a time and eventually it was done. Had to be sure of the right gauge and length of course, but I got there. Measure twice, cut once, rinse, lather, repeat.

Hopefully the fire wasn't so bad that it fried other components in there (radio, brake light switch, vacuum hoses, etc.). If you aren't gonna buy it, who will? Get her, she looks like she has moxy.

better the wiring on a Newport than an Imperial...……. it DOES look like an otherwise nice car, and it sure doesn't hurt that it's a convertible.
