Hi.
I want to buy vind deflectors for my 1973 Dodge Polara 4 d sedan.
I'm also interested in a trailer hitch for the same car. Other parts is also 4 interest
I live in Norway, so you have to ship the parts to me.

Best Regards Bent Kjellemo

Your post just made me smile with fond memories of my Father.....Love the "vind" deflectors....My father grew up in Copenhagen and had a heavy accent, he used to use V05 hair care product and would pronounce it "wee, oh, five" For some reason V's and W's get easily mixed in the Scandinavian to English translation.:D

For the reason that the need for letter ``W`` in conversations with other natives is close to zero.

BTW, welcome Bent!

I'm not sure what he means via the "Wind Deflectors" description, what came too my mind were "Vent Shades" (had to strain the brain to remember that brand name)

Like these (?) (not the new plastic crap they sell now)

I ment the "vent shades". I have found a set for a 69 polara on Ebay, so I hope this set will fit. It's ofcourse the stainless steel type. Wount put plastic crap on my car

But I'm still up to buy a trailer hitch though. So if anybody know where to buy, give me a message in here.

Best regards Bent

I have a trailer hitch I removed from a 72 Polara, not sure if that would work. It is not a pretty thing but Dad wanted me to save it when I scrapped the car so here it sits, since around 1994.

The arms with the remains of the yellow tape on them bolted to the outside of the bumper face, not sure if it was to factory holes or not.

Likely made by Valley Hitch Co in their heyday.

Bent you can't find a local metal shop to make up a hitch for your car?

It's pretty simple metal fabrication, the only thing is the hitch itself and that depends on what you use over there which maybe different than the USA.

In the USA we have Ball, (many sizes), Receiver (3 classes IIRC), Pintle Hook for heavy trucks/equipment & Pintle Hook/Ball Combo.

With the shipping might just be the same to have one fabricated.

If it was a 72 polara sedan and not a wagon it should fit my car. But the arms outside the bumpers? Hmm that could not look very nice? Sure they not was bolted on the inside of the bumper?

I can manufacture a hitch by myself, but the european hitches looks weird on a old US car, so therefore I want a US hitch. I can change the ball on the hitch to a european size.

Yeah, it was an ugly unit but effective, and the arms did run up outside the bumper - ergo the reflective tape residue. The car made lots of miles with camper trailers in tow.

The cleanest and tidiest would be a receiver type hitch and the one I'd go with, just don't leave the 'shin knocker' in there when not in use!

Here is the types who the Dodge dealer offer back in the days. My car had a class 3 trailer hitch. I recognize the screws and some plates who still is on my car. That would be the perfect hitch to find
