What did you do to your C-body today....

Went to a cruise in last night and met a cool old dude who has a 78 LeSabre turbo. Didn't know they put the draw thru carb engine in those cars.
 
Test fit a wheel today just to see if it would clear. 275 60 15 on a 15x8 wheel. Now the next question is skirts or no skirts hmmm I do like my women without their skirt but there's something I just like about her having them on. So what are yalls thoughts. Skirts or no skirts?

I like the skirts on goes with the era of the car. The good thing is you can put them on and off whenever you want.
 
Started preparing the dual snorkel for prime and paint.

Took the passenger-side door apart to fix the power window, which barely moved on it's own. Took the regulator out, took apart the motor assembly, put fresh grease inside the gear box and cleaned the commutator and brushes. Replaced the outside whisker which was badly rusted. Even with no whiskers, the window moved very stiffly. Noticed the weather stripping on the front edge of the window was messed up, but the window would have to come out to repair so just lubed the rails with Shin-etsu grease and that freed it up nicely.

After putting everything back together, the window now works damn near perfect! Very happy with the results.

Installed a vapor barrier (which was missing) and sprayed undercoating over some spots where the factory stuff was cracking away. Also repaired two spots on the door panel where the clips pulled out by JB welding in some thin pieces of aluminum.

Attended MoPars on the Mississippi in Dubuque, Iowa. Almost 300 cars were there. Julie and I got 3rd in class with the '62. The Polar blue 300F was stunning. 2nd went to a survivor '66 300 which was almost immaculate.

I took the wagon out for a ride yesterday. It drives great but I noticed a rumbling noise on acceleration. Knew what it was, the power steering hose had loosened up where it was clamped to the inner fender - second time that has happened. I need to put a piece of rubber in there plus drill the hole for a bigger fastener.
 
Because my Durango is still loaded from the quick trip we made to Fresno and back Friday-Saturday for my Grandson's First Birthday Party, I drove my Newport to Worship yesterday morning, as well as to the Grocery Store Sunday evening. Man it was a hot day!!! Over 100 degrees! The worst part was sitting in the drive-through at the Pharmacy on my way home from Worship. Glad there was some tree shade.

No, I'm didn't put my top up, and I'm not going to. :icon_fU:

Car does need a wash though....
 
Swapped carbs on the '68 Monaco 500, went to an Edelbrock 1407 from a Holley 670 Avenger. Just cleaned it with carb cleaner and wiped the dirty spots as much as I could. New (Chinese) gasket for the top and squirters, reused old plunger and seal as the Chinese stuff was not the same. Plopped it on the intake, added a clear filter and fired it up. 17" of vacuum so I went for a test drive. Not set correctly, it still was the best performing six miles I've driven with the car! It has a large stumble when you hit it, does it three times as I'm letting off the pedal, and then just sails! I hammered on it good, got the car up to 95 on the speedo, and came home to regroup. It's not even right and I'm ecstatic! I needed this to work, and it did and helped pull me out of my funk I've been in this year car wise. It goes like a scalded chicken, and I can't wait to get it turned a little better. As @71Polara383 would say, "burnout ready" is what I'm aiming for. :thumbsup:

The Edelbrock was the best thing I did on my 383, just wish I wouldn't have wasted time and money on two afb rebuilds...

Took off passenger side tie rods and found a worn out idler arm. Summit Racing to the rescue. Will have it on Wednesday.

WELL fella’s my wait is finally over, I went and picked up the seats today for my 77 sunroof NYB.. very excited to say the least. I’ll store them in the house until I’m able to get the rest of the interior ready for installation. Sorry for the So-So pictures, but you get the idea. It feels absolutely amazing. And they smell even better. LOL. it’s all wrapped in leather. I’ll gather the “before” pictures and post them next..
