I found a dealership in North Dakota that closed down in the mid-80’s and got to buy all the NOS parts inventory. What is crazy is that the parts inventory is totally untouched. They just locked the doors when it closed down, it’s like a time capsule. This is what it would be like walking into a dealership parts room in 1985. We filled up over 40 large bins of parts. Been on the road for a week and going to start going through the stuff next week. Enjoy the video!

great find, wish it were mine

Did they supply you with an inventory sheet of what was there? Just curious. Any R-body bumper fillers?

Enjoy getting it all "discovered"!

i already put dibbs on any c-body stuff..

Message me with requests and if I run across anything I will let you know.

Couple of things on what is there:

- They were a Plymouth Chrysler dealer only so not much truck stuff
- they did not have a body shop so not much trim/grills/finish panels/weather strip etc
- Spent 8 hours loading all this stuff and honestly did not have much time to actually see what was there. Was just throwing stuff in bins. Brought 40 bins and filled all of them. Going out of town this weekend with the fam so can’t really get into the stuff till Tuesday, I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve who can’t open presents yet.
- most of it is c body parts
- no inventory unfortunately

I am always looking for distributor related parts. Shoot me a list if you find any. Pre 80

Interesting. I of course have some particular 66 Dodge Monaco 500 trim I'm looking for, so it's unlikely it will be in the inventory, but you never know.

Let us know when you've got it inventoried.

Cheers!

Yea from the video it looks like a 'Bunch of smalls' as they say on that picker show.

I can still remember when Ronald Reagan pen'd the new legislation for the tariff's in the Harley/Jap/Toyota dispute back in the early 80's where part of it was relaxing the requirement/law that car manufactures needed to keep a supply of parts available for all vehicles that they sold for 15 years. This was the main ***** of the Japs.
Within a year after it was signed a major Mopar parts warehouse in the town next to where I lived had a parts clearing auction. The ad in the newspaper specified that you needed a 2 grand cash deposit just to get in the door (count me out).

Guys were still talking about RR doors and fenders by the dozens acquired there years later.

Chrysler and GM both had factory warehouse sales of surplus parts at miniscule prices. 452 heads for $20/each. 100 Mopar fuses for $1.00 440-3 short block for $250.00 etc. GM had lots of 4 cyl short blocks, some 400 sbc fitted blocks and short blocks. Got a '81 Z/28/Corvette THM350 for $200.00 A GMC 302 short block for a few dollars, too. Those were the days!

Later, Chrysler would drop the price of something to bare bones, rather than do another formal sale. Got 3 sets of Magnum GT wheels, rings, center caps, lug nuts on that one . . . all "over the front counter at the Dodge store" I smiled.

Enjoy!

Wicked Kool, I like the Mopar and other cabinets.

That comment was totally uncalled for.

Perhaps you're not pleased about the end of the Cold War.

Or perhaps you haven't watched your father lose his mind and die after a 4 year bout with Alzheimer's Disease.

You may not like what he has to say but he has the right to say it.

We all have different sensitivities on these things. Some have not been past that point in their lives where they realize these things, by observations, so they "don't know" how insensitive their comments might appear to others . . . IF it might matter to them.

Just some observations,

Sensitivities is how we got to this point in the nation's history. Call it as you see it, to Hell with feelings.
Back to the parts stash for me.
