I'm curiuos,what is the inspection tag under the fender tag?? My 69 SF has this as can be seen under the left top corner of fender tag.

As the cars completed the trip down the assembly line, they were given an inspection to insure that the build sheet matched what was installed on the car. Each inspector had a unique stamp, usually in the form of a hand punch that punched a hole in the inspection tag. Some cars were known to have more than one inspection tag or inspection marks on the tag. Other examples exist where the inspector mark was stamped on the build tag itself, these protocols varied from year to year and plant to plant.

Inspection punches vary by year and plant. As some punches are pre paint, it would not be possible for the stamp to indicate compliance with a broadcast sheet. Whatever was inspected in that case was, likely, related to body in white.

Later punches (mid 70s) seem to be related to quality control as various areas of construction are called out on metal strip.

FWIW....I’m compiling a data base of 69 St. Louis cars including the inspection punch info to see if there is any correlation to anything else.

Basics of Stereo Multiplexing for FM Transmission

I think Mopar used the term "Multiplex" to simply advertise their Stereo radios as something even better, as these came with three speakers minimum in the C-bodies: The dash central woofer (well, sort of) and the two smaller tweeters on each side. Most of the cars equipped with an FM stereo radio came with the five speaker setup, anyway, allowing to adjust balance and front/rear fading. Back when one-speaker mono AM radios were still ubiquitous, a five-speaker FM stereo system was something to brag about.

Final inspection was made on paper. I support the theory that the information "encoded" on the inspection tag (by punching it) needed to survive painting, so it probably referred to the body in white being as it should concerning the options requiring additional holes or other alterations to the sheetmetal (not much else to check on before painting).

All I have is the order form the salesman used to place my order. All the other paper and such that people collect today just wasn't important enough to save.

stock 440 6 pack rods are thicker the stock rb rods , mopar class'd them as heavy duty . used them in many other 440's but 383 had but one size rod , its shorter then the standard rb rod , just as strong . and stronger in that shorter stoke motor . just about the same rod to stroke ratio . eddy made the b 6 pac intakes , i've had several . never a mopar part # on any .

3412046 on the '69 440 6bbl. Edelbrock DP6B got a P4529056 part number, not a regular part number. It's between the front and primary carbs and so hard to see with carbs mounted.
