Kevin Hart Crash

Glad no one was killed. Also glad it wasn't a C body as there are more Cuda's left today than C bodies, at least what I see at car cruises.

Give CA is the nanny states of all nanny states, I'm surprised they haven't straightened the road and installed nurf bumpers everywhere for their own good.
I saw that they were on the old race track between cold water and laurel canyon. Seeing this I figured they were hot dogging. This is a crazy twisty road in some spots but it’s also a normal country two lane. It looks pretty straight where the crashed. That stuff they block off the gutters in kiddie bowling wouldn’t have helped these clowns. No road racing involved here just bad driving or bad luck.

700+ hp and the car is going to go whatever direction the car is pointed at under acceleration.

Even my Scat Pack has to be pointed in the direction I want it to go before hitting the loud pedal.

These cars command a lot of responsibility or you are going to hurt people and yourself...

Seems like we see this every year at the Dream Cruise.
Younger generations that grew up with minivans and front drive 4 cyl vehicles get behind the wheel of a high powered rear drive car and have no clue how to handle it.

I remember when wheel spin was a bad thing. Now it’s how you get bragging rights. I used to get into it with the kids at work about my grandpa car. ‘66 Dart w a surplus MP circle track 360. They don’t care how fast it is in the quarter anymore. I remember one late night after work we went behind the Home Depot and I did my best Don the Snake Prudohme burnout to shut them all up. It had to be an eighth of a mile long patch. Then they all left me alone because now it was a fast car. I just gave up on the whole burnouts lose races stuff...

I did make sure which way it was pointed by the way Lol !!!

Now the alleged experts are sounding off....

Hart's car missing key safety elements???

He didn't have a 5 point harness and a roll cage???

WTF????

Even under manufacturer standards or NHRA rules the car didn't meet the threshold to require a cage or a 5 point harness. It only had 707 hp and someone that didn't know how to drive!!!!

Kevin Hart's car was supposedly missing key safety features: report

Best comment of the article:
"The reason he wasn't driving is that he couldn't reach the pedals."

Also is this true?
"Lacking because Five-point safety harness is illegal in CA roads and highways."

https://carbuzz.com/news/ferrari-f512-m-totaled-after-swerving-to-avoid-hedgehog

German Businessman Joerg Daecher was cruising home in his $130,000 Ferrari when he was suddenly faced with a serious dilemma: either run straight over the stray hedgehog he had caught in his headlights, or swerve to avoid it. Doing the right thing by the woodland creature Joerg steered out of the way, slipped on some wet leaves and smashed into a crash barrier. Both driver and hedgehog escaped unhurt, but in saving the little beast around $50,000 worth of damage was caused to the Ferrari.

Swerving to avoid an animal is a dangerous maneuver and not recommended; that said, the supercar owner's karma points are going to be through the roof for that selfless act. What would you have done?

"Don't Veer for Deer" signs are common around here.
But the old saying is "You never see the one you hit".
fall 05 040 copy.jpg

Which was certainly true in this case.
A mile and a half from the cottage I feel a huge "thump" and fur flying all over the place.
Figured I could make the cottage 'till I smelled anti-freeze.

Never saw this sucker. The Jeep punted him way off left into the ditch. I was probably rolling at 50 mph at the time.
Bow season in northern Michigan stirred up the wildlife.. He must have been in a full gallop.
My insurance adjustor had this guy in his freezer by the time I called him in the morning.
$4,000 repair bill and 2 weeks in the bodyshop.
That poor Jeep had a rough life. It was totaled two years later, hit by a fine citizen of Pontiac with no ins. or license.

Any consolation it was a good looking deer, but yes I prefer to meet them in the woods than with my car.

I hit a 200 lb buck on the Indiana Toll Road at 80 mph with my Titan about 4 years ago. What a mess!!!

When a raccoon suddenly runs out in from of my car at the last minute, they always do 123 dollars in damage, for a new fender liner only hit two of those trash panda's

Yea it's a lose lose situation for the guy in the 'Rari, even if he didn't swerve it'll still be 50 grand in damage I'll bet, but he gets the "karma points" with the greenies, PRICELESS!

Cali Safety at it's best  Plastic Fence, at least they didn't have to pull splinters outta they're asses!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I wailed a Seagull at 100 plus, must'of hit the bumper first, no grill damage just a explosion of feathers over the hood and all through the grill, radiator and into the engine compartment were the very fine downy type feathers.

But nothing like hitting a gull at 170mph on a race bike at the TT I suppose.

Isle of Man TT Ian Hutchinson 2012 he collided with a low flying gull at 170mph.jpg
