Found this on FB Marketplace for King of Prussia, PA. Wish I could get it - is just like the one I had in High School. No mention of drivetrain or photos of engine, data plate, etc.

Just finished a new carbarater, a new battery, new tires, full new tune up. Runs excellent, Mopower motor. AC works perfect Still needs minor cosmetic finishes Please don’t hesitate to email with any further questions

Thank you for the CL link.

I respectfully disagree: this car looks like has some issues. It's not just a rear window it needs, but a whole new roof. I also see peeling paint and substantial rust on the Dutchman panel, bubbling in the rear quarter, and rust peeking in the front fender where the paint peeled off -- so I suspect a repaint with poor prep work. To boot, the A/C vents look shot, and there is a hole where the antenna base should be. On the plus side, the washer bottle looks nice!

Edit: one "wood" panel of the grain shows what I think is water damage, raising additional questions.

$7.2k would be a fair price for a rust free car. As noted this one has a lot of rust on the dutchman panel and shows evidence of bondo on the rear quarter. Missing back window also suggests that the trunk floor and the area under the rear seat is suspect. There is also what appears to be a rust out on the cowl above the A/C air box. Missing factory air cleaner and mount for radio mast. PA car so underside rust is also likely. Appears to me to be overpriced, but would need to get eyes on the trunk floor and the frame rails to make a fair evaluation. If those items are rusty the seller will be lucky to get $2.5k for this car. On the plus side if the floors and underside are solid, this is a well optioned car that is a good project at about $5k.

Total disclosure time:

I looked at this car last week

For all of 10 seconds, literally.

I had sent the seller a question regarding the seats and dash, specifically are there any tears (seats) or cracks (dash). He responded the seats had normal wear, but no tears. He did not answer the dash question.

I drove over there and walking up to the car, I could clearly see a 4" inch tear, complete with foam popping out, in the drivers seat back. The passenger seat was covered, so no assessment there but considering the pillow case it was wrapped in, was probably worse. The dash was cracked as was the console. I left without knocking on the door or exploring the vehicle any further. Hell, if he couldn't answer that simple question honestly, I'd question anything he had to say.

Also, the ad states "runs excellent" but he told me that his father has yet to install the "new carbarater" . So.....if it runs excellent, why the new carb ?
My take is the car is a pig YMMV.

You can tell what kinda hacks the car has been subject to by looking at the battery alone. The terminals are incorrect on the battery...someone actually took the time to cut and splice the wiring to make it reach the terminals, instead of just buying the right battery.

It's on Craigslist for $7200. Other than the back window, it looks pretty solid, and not a bad price.
70 fury 111 conv.
I wonder what it would look like if it were a 1970 B body convertible for $7,200.? Probably no motor or trans, or top, or floors, or seats, or grill, or tail lights, etc. (at least in the New England area).
