Why yes, it's a Fury. Not the kind you were expecting I'm sure but nonetheless.

I'm guessing is about 1970 vintage, that's when they remodeled.
 
"Rheemglas"....Glass lined tank I guess?

My aunt in MN finally had to get rid of her glass lined water heater that was from the 50s or 60s. It had been fixed so many times over the decades, and it finally came down to a nil supply of repair men with the skills to keep fixing it.

Nowdays, it's planned obsolescence....
 
The stuff made decades ago was built to last. Manufacturers cared about their reputation. If one part did fail, you could replace just that part, not scrap the entire unit. Times change, not always for the better.
 
Perpetually producing new stuff of this shitty Quality nowadays to replace the trash from last year is the biggest killer of our Environment IMHO.
