1972 Polara 4 door sedan

Haven't seen a bumper jack used in forever! How many miles you put on her since the rebuild?

Been away. But now I’m back.
I haven’t been driving my Polara at all for quite some time. Nothing wrong with it, I just parked it one day and drove other stuff for a while. The only thing that bothered me about it was the rear axle. It’s a 8.25 open 2.71 gear and I hated it. I found a housing from a good friend named Wyatt. Y’all might have heard of him,,, anyway, it should be here Friday. So I put the Polara in the garage and dropped the old axle out.

Some might have noticed that I had intended to put a 9.25 axle in this car previously. Long story short, that didn’t go so well. Hopefully this time I’ll be more successful.

A few months of neglect and the mice have taken over. But I did start some sunflowers and Dragons tounge beans in there! Plus birds enjoy looking in the mirror while taking a crap down the side of my door!

Who likes pictures? What the heck, here ya go...I left the lines connected to the backing plates and hung them up out of the way.

What’s missing here? That’s right. The snubber. I didn’t have one for the 8.75, but the 8.25 has one. In case you don’t know, they are close. But, it’s not a bolt on situation. But maybe I can modify it a little. Plus I’m waiting on the correct yoke. This is the biggun and I need the little un.

A little die grinding of the mounting holes and bench grinding of the area between and it fits. Pretty sure I’ve done this before without an issue.
