FOR SALE: 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT originally from California, this car has spent most of it's life on the west coast and as a result is rust free. As usual with desert cars, the paint has been nearly baked off ( a previous owner had primered the bare spots but rest assured, there is no Bondo lurking under there, just bare steel). The trunk floor does have a few spots that will need attention, but otherwise no metal replacement is needed..
**Engine**: Newly rebuilt numbers matching 440 with parts from Wiseco, Eagle, ARP, Comp and Smith Bros. to name a few (receipts available) New starter, p/s pump, alternator, water pump and rebuilt correct one year only, California only carburetor.
**A/C system** completely refurbished with a new condenser, dryer, expansion valve, o-rings and rebuilt compressor. Still running R-12
**Suspension **Firm Feel stage II steering box, Firm Feel tubular upper control arms, rebuilt lowers, FF pitman arm, new sway and strut rod bushings, new shocks.
**Brakes **rebuilt calipers, new rotors, pads and hoses, new master cylinder, booster rebuilt (by Dewey)
**Driveshaft** new u-joints installed, straightened and balanced
**Cooling **re-cored, correct numbered radiator ( not pictured)
*New alternator
*New tires
*New ACC mass backed carpet.
I have a set of well worn, but correct seats for the car that come with it. I bought them in Carlisle to use as patterns should I (or you) want to have new covers made locally.
The car runs and shifts excellent, handles well and stops on a dime.
This is a car worthy of a full on restoration. While the GT's were a pretty limited production run in and of itself, this one is rather unique in that it is a non vinyl roof car (15% of production) and a rarely seen A4 (silver) car to boot. The red primer in some of the pictures was stripped off to be sure there was nothing lurking under there and there was not. There are a few pics of the bare quarter (epoxy primed since for protection).
$20,000 firm. Yes, it's a bit of a salty number I know, but I'm buried in this car and though I'm willing to take a hit for a few grand, I'm not ready to take a bath on it.
Thanks for looking.
-Pete
