I would be cautious, in Ohio you don't need a registration number to license a trailer. If I bought it I would say it doesn't have a registration number and make up a manufacturer's name.

I have a hand made trailer just needed a weight slip and I used the.last name of the guy who made it and it was registered. I was kind of surprised how easy it was.

'Peerz tah be a combination of Steel AND Aluminum? Odd? I thought they were ALL Aluminum. Hard to tell how old it iz and where it's spent it's life. Oh well, I'm not in need of one, Jer

is it me, or does this trailer (at the Uhaul yard in Ontario where for sale) look like its been disabled from vehicle carrying before selling it? see orange circles for what look like triangular/tubular obstacles to me -- and where are the ramps?

I can borrow a friend’s trailer anytime I need which is great but if I had one sitting out back I’d be dangerous...I could easily see myself having a parts car problem.

OK, kids...my son manages a large U-Haul store in Oklahoma City. Prepare to be educated....

U-Haul sells car haulers now. If you visit their website, it'll direct you. There are three different sizes of auto transport. The trailer you see in post #10 is an auto hauler that is slightly modified for hauling U -Boxes (think a smaller PODS); hence the stops welded on the deck. These are made from the smallest of the three sizes of auto transport. You can't get a C-body on one. No way in hell. With those, you do NOT get ramps or straps in the deal. You can order those through U-Haul, or build your own ramps.

U-Haul auto transports are mostly steel, with aluminum ramps and fenders. All have surge brakes and four-pin wiring connectors and use a 2" ball.

A U-Haul auto hauler that has been decommissioned, should have a metal tag welded on the frame stating this; as well as all of the U-Haul markings removed, like the trailer ID in the first pic (DB 1744 E)

These are the ONLY trailers they sell, period! You can't purchase any other cargo trailers. If you see someone who claims to "own" one, turn them in to U-Haul and police. They are in possession of stolen property. If you are suspicious of an auto hauler for sale, ask to see a bill of sale from U-Haul, or a title in the seller's name, before forking over cash. U-Haul has in the past, recovered trailers missing for 20 years or more!
