Today I participated in the Ponte Vedra Beach Chamber car show. It's a fairly big deal on a regional level, about 200 quality cars, preregistration required, yada. Lots of Ferraris and Lambos and Porches and other high-end stuff including some muscle and lots of weird, rare cars.

Lo and behold, right at the end of the show after all the other awards were given out, they came to me with the Judges Choice! Seriously, I couldn't believe it. Yeah, the car always gets the looks and the statements of "I've never seen one of these!". But I gave the judges the story of the Hurst car, and that caused them to really "lean in" and look at the car. The final award after me was "Best", but I'm astounded and humbly thrilled to have gotten this award. And the glass trophy ain't bad, either!

And to top it all off, all my local Mopar pals were all there (without their assorted hemicars). They were as thrilled as I was for the only old Mope in attendance to win!

Congratulations, nice for the only Mopar to whoop on some high end imports.

Now that's dang funny, that there is!

I can't BELIEVE this big C-Body whooped on the zillion dollar imports, and the early Vettes and the Late Vettes (of whom I'm an owner), the Hot Rods and Customs, and all the other stuff. Did I mention there were two 54 Caddy verts and one 55 Caddy vert, all of which were astounding? Three rare mid-50s Caddys....but only one Hurst Mope.

Okay, I've got to calm down, have a Bourbon....and smile about the day.

Thanks, guys.

Much respect for restoring and showing the car!

Cuduos to you for explaining the history of the ‘70 300-H to the judges.

Congrats to you and the car.

Well done!!!

Way to represent the Mopar C body, but you shouldn't drink alone, I'll join you in a glass of bourbon. Cheers!
