My 2018 RAM Longhorn

Not just a limited, a Limited Tungsten, so watch it!
It's a roll up ....
It's my daily driver, no need for anything in the bed, I'm the boss. BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.
" Dave, why'd you get a 8 ft bed ? Because they don't sell a 10 ft bed ! "

Makes me think of this...

Ya, I want a tonneau so I can pack the bed and go fitchin.
How sturdy is it? Have you had snow on it? I was looking at a trifold cuz they claim it's stronger and more secure than a roll up.

Yes, Jersey snow. I don't let it get too heavy because my brain says heavy snow could damage the toneau.
A trifold or roll up, they wanna get in they will get in regardless not unlike a convertible.
They likely can't see over the bedside anyway .

Hey Mario the Mopar cover is a 4 fold hard box cover similar to the Bakflip. The Truxedo covers are also very good for a soft cover. If you want security the Mopar cover is lockable without using the tgate lock like the Bakflip. Stay away from Rolling covers if snow is an issue. Now this is a retail price on the website cost should be in the $700 range plus install which is simple. Plus in 3 years you can swap it onto the new truck.

My personal experience with that Mopar cover (had it on my 2013) was not stellar. I found the Bakflip far superior. Nearly lost the Mopar one to the Chinook winds going along Hwy3 near Pincher. Not every joint is latched to the frame.

For FFS, Mario. You are agonizing over a few hundred dollars difference when you just bought a truck that costs HOW many THOUSANDS of dollars???

Company lease Stan, so the purchase price is moot. And for the record, it's like a $2000 difference between the cap and the tonneau. Not to mention the company is not pickin this tab up.

So yes, i shall agonize. Not to mention i will hem and haw as well.

It was on their lot 13 months.
Built in Dec 2017, along I come Feb 2019

That still makes no sense to me. Those trucks were hot sellers up here and based on the sales numbers in the US it should never have been sitting that long. The Dealer must have been holding out for a big payday but unfortunately ran into you lol.

I live 2 miles from this dealer and I've bought 3 new vehicles from this dealer in the last 24 months. I don't recall seeing Dave's truck on the lot but then again I wasn't in the market for a 3/4 T Cummins Ram so I guess I could of walked past it and not paid any attention to it.

I don't see a lot of high end RAMs. Most are cheaper models, Laramies now and then. I haven't seen another Tungsten on the road nor have I seen another Southfork.
When I do see another high end RAM its a dually . Which probably explains why I have to go out of state to buy one when I need it.
I had the truck into a dealer for its 1st oil change Saturday. . Of the 60 or so trucks that were on the lot two had a sunroof . All but 1 of those 60 + were 1500s and that was a 2500 contractor grade truck.

Cook's did have a $100k F8 Redeye Challenger in the showroom when I bought my Scat Pack. I was seriously thinking about buying that car but I already had an old school Challenger years ago and wanted a Charger this time and bought the Scat Pack.

I never went in their showroom.

You can't sell a real truck like Dave's in a area like that along the I95 corridor. Bunch of soccer moms and their sperm donors that think they "need" a truck because they go to Home Depot once a month.

There are thousands of Military Contractor's and Government civilians making well over $100k a year at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Most have more money than brains. There are more than 5 Mopar dealers within 20 miles of the Proving Ground. Even more Chevy and Ford dealers in the area too. I would suggest parking outside the gate between 3-5 pm and count the number of VERY HIGH END trucks and Mercedes and BMW's coming out of the Proving ground every night. You won't see more than a handful of cheap beaters coming out of the gate. Everyone is driving very expensive cars and trucks. Young Data Collector's with no experience (or real skills) are starting out at $35 an hour. Everyone is driving a truck like Dave's or mine!

I was speaking more about the truck than the people Bob. There are trucks and there are grocery getters. Marketing is doing its job everyone wants a "pick up truck". However a real truck that you can take the tin box off the rear and pull a real trailer is beyond what people think they need. Look Mario's job was being done in a BMW prior to his new truck. I understand he wanted a truck does he need a diesel 1 ton, no. Just trying to give Graham a feel for the I95 corridor, NYC to DC megatropolis.

-None of this is directing anything at you, Dave, just sayin-

The BM was fun as hell and it did get the job done-esp in the snow-very nicely. I have nothing bad to say about the machine itself.

But, I finally got a truck because I will be getting a lake house soon, a fishin' boat and I want to haul the girls around (not to mention if I buy/trade for new ones) so i will be using the truck as God intended, not for points on some social scale. For the record, i do not get the groceries-not my yob.
