Like a certain 71 Polara with road rash across the front of the hood.
That tells me someone enjoys driving the car. Not hauling it around in a trailer.
I’m like Will. Just park the car and roll down the windows. I’ll open the hood or trunk if someone asks but I prefer the as driven look. Not like it needs service.:)

Wow, i'm glad to see like thoughts in the "keeping the hood shut" department! Only time my hood/trunk is open, is for judges. My engine comparntment is not pristine, by any means!

I’m from the “Cars are Art” school. Like a rolling sculpture.
Hood and trunk up, story board, 200 page tomes of restoration pictures clutter things up.
Oh, imo.

I like the story board if there is really a story to tell... "This car was bought new by Joe Whatever, who forgot how to drive, then purchased by Richard Cranium, who is very proud of his skills for acquiring such a low mile example... offed for sale at 10x its realistic value..." Nope, just doesn't do it for me.

He's over on FBBO, although not the same guy your talking about.

And he’s probably a member of a certain North Oakland Co. Mopar Club.
“Don’t get too close, touch or so much as breath on my car.”
I don't know the guy on FBBO, but have always liked the name.
A second gen Charger is a car that looks so right, that diplaying with the hood open is a travesty.

I have found most criticism and arguments at shows stem from under the hood details.
I’ve mentioned before the fist fight that broke out at one show over the “correct” finish on an ac compressor. The subject was my GTO survivor at the time. I wasn’t even involved in the discussion. I was too busy chuckling as I dropped the hood.
