Faster than any NHRA nitrous ProMod!!!!!

I'm sad to announce......

Cost is the biggest factor. It cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to race in this class.

NORTHEAST OUTLAW PRO MODS SWITCH TO EIGHTH-MILE RACING | Competition Plus
Nice to see an honest answer from a question. I still wonder how these guys can do it at that level, being regular Joe's and all. I have seen Pro Mods on 1/8 mile before, it's too short! Braaammmpppp, done.

I remember when I worked at the parts store, one of the salesmen was an NHRA tech, and on weekends he'd inspect cars, and I would too, Soni got to see some cool cars. He always said 1/4 just made you break parts, 1/8 mile was all you needed.

Speed is getting kind of crazy for door slammers too. They are starting to head towards 260 mph in the 1/4 mile.

I remember 10.5 Outlaw use to run 1/4 mile but they were nailing the jersey walls on a frequent basis. Kind of hard to control the car on 10.5's after an 1/8 mile. So safety and cost kind of reeled that class back to 1/8 mile.

Burning a nitrous motor for almost 6 seconds WOT will use up a lot more parts than a 3-4 second 1/8 mile run. 90%of the time it is all over by 330' on these fast cars. 9 second and up cars should still run 1320' mainly because in a 10-11 second car your 660' mph is only a tick higher than the average interstate commuter traffic. You want to draw cars off the highway, not run them onto the highway.

I'm pretty sure that I can put 305×18 Drag Radials on and have enough clearance so the tires don't hit anything. I'll have to test fit them and might need the .004 spacers to keep it from hitting the inner fender.

If I did enter.....

Modern Hemi Shootout. .....Brackets
If? What kind of attitude is that? What's the point of going to the track to figure out how to launch, when to shift, how long a burnout? Tsk, tsk.:poke:
