Here are the pics .. if I do, what am I missing to get it mounted properly?

I think it's upside down... I also have a heavy spring. Is there some kind of bracket missing from the top?

Thanks!

I found a couple of pretty good pics. The heavy spring connects the main part of the jack to the tab that sticks out at the bottom of the wheel well. The first pic shows the position and angle of the spring, the second pic shows the position of the jack and hook. The tab that you are trying to connect the hook to looks like it should go through the hook so the spring can connect to it. It also looks like you should have the jack handle mounted up instead of down.

Do you have the piece the jack "stalk" goes into, the base? I believe that the basic jack itself is pretty common, with the curved piece being what defines it to a particular model/bumper shape? I believe the spring is there to keep the jack in place during storage. There probably should be a heavy felt piece glued to the bottom and sides of the rear hole the stalk slides into, as an anti-rattle situation? Trying to remember how my '66 Chrysler's jack mounts in the trunk. Is there a label present of the jack/spare tire items, usually on the underside of the deck lid?
Jack base is under the wing nut that holds the spare tire down, as pictured.

Might find some illustration graphics in a Chry parts book or service manual. Either at www.mymopar.com or www.jholst.net. Jholst has a complete set of parts books and service manuals for download, for '55 -'66 Chrysler cars.

Just some thoughts,

Thanks for answering guys. Yes, I have the base, it's still in the trunk, so I have the whole Jack from what it sounds like. I just have to assemble it correctly to store it.

I don't have the proper placard. I have one for some other body style or year.

Thanks for the help and tips! I got it sorted and properly installed today. Now I just have to find the right color gray and paint it

Update: I bought the right paint for the jack if anyone needs to know... you can get it cheap from Zoro.com! I looked at Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace...etc. No one stocked it because it's a unique color of gray.

RUST-OLEUM
Industrial Choice ™ Spray Paint,Dove Gray,12 oz.
Zoro #: G2871942
Item ships from Zoro in 1 business day.

It's all painted up and looks fantastic! It's a perfect match. I have the correct Aqua/Black trunk paint coming in as well and will hopefully knock that out this weekend pending the weather.
The correct dark gray/black mat is on order as well... so I'll have a factory looking trunk when it's all in place! Thanks for the help. I'll post pics soon... I know it's only a trunk, but hopefully it helps someone else down the line, ya never know!
