I looked at this 73 Charger today. Thinking about getting it. Roller no engine. Would like to know what size engine it came with & the original color

Original engine was a 440 and the original paint was Bronze Metallic.

Car came with a 440 Magnum (signified by the E86 as well as the U on the "U3A" line).

Looks like is was K6 (Autumn Bronze) with a black vinyl top. Looks like that one got painted purple...too bad. It's a nice color.

Found a couple pics of Bronze 73s...the color changes a lot depending on the light conditions.

It’s an old street race car. Comes with a fiberglass bulge bolt on hood. It has a glass front bumper. Back braced 8 3/4 with a 3:73 Sure Grip. Headers, 3 inch exhaust with X pipe, tach with shift lite.

Pretty rare piece at only 1,627 built with the U code and it’s an ac car to boot.

And a console with a factory Slap Stick 727.

I would say its rare enough and worth restoring.
Agreed Bob but I’m surprised that’s not called out on the fender tag.

Even the A/C would be easy to put back together on this car.

Interior looks to be in decent shape., although it looks like the Tuff wheel has a chunk missing. No cracks in the dash? Wow. Nice project there...looks like a solid foundation.
I don't know why, but I think the hi impact colors look wrong on the late Chargers (73-74). Take it back to stock with that Bronze and you'll have a real looker.

Well like most of my projects I doubt I’ll have the time, money or skill to do a proper restoration on it. So if I get it I’ll get it going again & enjoy it untill the next guy comes along & can take it to the next level if he wants.

As I ponder the purchase of this car. With only 1627 built with the 440 HP is there a way to break it down by the color. And then the other options like the ac & auto trans.

Not really but I believe you could rest assured that there’s probably less than a couple of dozen ordered that way. I mean when it comes right down to it what’s the difference if there was four or 50 identical cars built especially with the fact that it no longer retains its original drivetrain? Or does it?

If the Options and accessories report exists, you can determine each individual option but you cannot cross reference numbers. I.e. engine/color/with a/c.

all of them would be automatics.

The original engine was put in a Drag car. I’m not sure if it’s still around but was told the guy put a lot of money in it. He wanted to go real fast.

Cool car and takes me back to my youth and one of the first introductions I had to a mopar was a friend with a 72-74 charger with a 400/auot and a 355 sure grip.....that thing would do donuts for days and I used to sit in the back while we marked up parking lots all over town.
