Can anyone tell me about the difference between these two torsion bars?

Chrysler usually marked the ends of the torsion bars with the last three digits of the part number. RH torsion bars have even part numbers, LH are odd numbered. From there you will have to go to a parts book to see what application that part number fit. Mopar used different load ratios on the different part numbered bars. Do not know if the load ratios are still available anywhere or not for C-Bodies.

On the part about even and odd numbers. In the above pics they are both even...but one is right and one is left......

If they were marked L or R the even odd thing does not apply. They used more than one marking system. Some also have a production date in addition to the last three of the part number.

Also the larger the diameter of the torsion bar, the more load it can handle as a general rule of thumb.

One end has date, other end has last 3 of part number, which is on the broadcast sheet. Bars can go in either direction, front and rear doesn’t matter. The L or R side does matter.

426 is 42nd week of 1966.
620 is 65-69 C body 383/440 and 70 383 in gg book

Ah...ok...that explains why I couldn't reference the 426 number. Mine must be in backwards showing the date instead of part number. I found info about the various bars and it seems one set is clocked at 40deg and that other at 44deg. What significance does that have assuming both are the same diameter.

The clocking was usually a tweak to adjust the ride height and the amount of pre-load on the bars, mainly to get a somewhat softer ride on the high end models.

I did come across this info if it helps anyone....
