Apparently the deceased owner of the farm was indeed a big time member of the group. Google the name "Parkie Scott". From what I found in his online obituary, he also worked for Chrysler Air Temp and was a classic car enthusiast.

I am curious to see if anyone from C Bodies went. Being held on a Tuesday and in the middle of nowhere I also wonder how much of a bargain the cars went for.

I put a bid on the 70 Chrysler Newport as an absentee bidder. I won. It hasn't been delivered yet so I will know how much of a bargain it was or not when I see it in person. Regardless, I was able to look past the deceased owners history and placed a modest bid simply in order to try and save the car from going into the wrong hands (demo guys, engine robbers, or overseas, etc.)

I now have brother and sister 70 Newport coupes.

Did I get it right, you won the auction and your highbid was officially confirmed?
Congratulations, sporting the gator grain roof you already scored a, rare piece. Got my fingers crossed for you that it it's not hiding too much rust and rot.
Keep us updated, do you know when you're going to pick her up?

That is correct. My high bid was the winning bid! I am very excited to see if the gamble pays off. (The first thing I am going to take a look at is the underside.)

This Newport was one of the several cars that had been stored in a garage/shop. It may have been off the road since 96 based on the last registration sticker seen on the license plate. It does run currently with just fresh gas and new battery.

It is in transit to NJ as we speak. It should arrive later this evening or early tomorrow.

Will certainly post pictures as soon as I am able to.

Says the guy walking around in a skirt. Don't feel sad for me, I'm perfectly well.

Surely you could come up with some insult better than that ? give it another go? that one just made me

Here is a quick teaser taken by the transport company yesterday after being loaded onto the trailer.

This side shows to have been lightly rubbed at some point along the body molding beginning at the edge of the driver's door to above the rear wheel well. I can image this happened possibly while trying to squeez into the narrow garage space it was kept it. Who knows. Also, you can catch a glimpse of rust at eddge of the rear quarter. Not the worst I've ever judged from a picture so far but I will know the extent of it as soon as it gets here.

More pics to come.

Make sure you check for hoodies under the seats:rofl:

I wonder how much they went for, and who had the balls to pick up and pay

I had the same curiosity so while finalizing my transaction I asked the auction guy and they said each piece went for $400-500. Apparently there is a collectible market for those items just like someone mentioned earlier in the thread.

Whaaat? Isn't that just an old bedsheet with 2 holes for the eyes?? For real, how hard can it be to do that on your own for someone who knows how a sewing machine works?!

I am surprised everyone is focusing on a dead person's beliefs. If they have a badass car that you want, buy it!(congratulations on win ) I'm sure that tons of executives and owners of many companies have crazy views, but don't take it out on the innocent car! Also, as a major c-body fan and a fat, beer-drinking American, I love the fact that international buyers crave these good cars. They're special, and overseas exposure is pretty cool. If I was on vacation in brasil and saw a c-body drive by, I'd legitimately freak out. I get what you're saying, though. No judgement on your bid or your comment buddy.

So the car finally arrived in one piece. Definitely am happy with the shape it is in. It's very solid underneath with no rust holes. A few spots of surface scale on some lower areas but nothing a good old wire brush couldnt clean up. I plan to treat those areas right away.

It has been down pouring on and off most of the day today over here so I wasnt able to capture as many photos as I wanted to before it started to rain again but here are a few I was able to take. By the way, it does run but in a way that reminds me of how the Plymouth Fury in the "Christine" movie ran at the beginning. It doesnt smoke, just runs really rough with barely any power to move at low throttle. I'm thinking the carb is gummed up bad!

They can keep the cars and the rest of the crap they are selling :stop: I could never knowingly buy something associated with anything to do with those horrible people.

Heh a little sensitive? You should be, Who put the Klan in the Ku Klux Klan? The Scots!
Scottish immigrants that settled in South Carolina and migrated west, probably why I never cared much for people from South Carolina or Tennessee.

This guy, Neil Oliver covers it all in BBC Scotland "Scotland & The Klan" in 2016.

BTW I'm Catholic, I hear we ain't to popular out your way still to this day.

A smart auction company would stay away from those particular items if they had a problem with what they stood for, obviously they don’t.

I'm surprised that AuctionZip which is based in the liberal stronghold of Massachusetts didn't catch it. The local auction house is based in Cedarville, OH.
Granted those items should of been <ahem> 'Disposed of' in a different way as with a online auction who knows what future wack-job they may end up in the hands of.

:soapbox:
