67 Polara 500 convertible

Love the M body wheels. The cool thing about them is that, while you're waiting on wheel covers, you can run them with road wheel centres. I decided to go that way on the truck rather than factory truck dog dishes...

Looks great Mr C. I have a nice set of 69/70 Dodge Division wheel covers. The only correct 67 15" wheel covers I found were priced at $4-500.00 a set. (Damm Hemi's) lol. I think they will look fine but it seems a shame to cover up those wheels.

The lower steering column dash cover that I searched the world over for arrived today, damaged. A victim of poor packaging and rough handling by USPS.
I think I can fix it though. Two small plastic tabs broken off. JB weld to the rescue.

I've recently been telling folks shipping me items through USPS, to box it as if it's going through an apocalypse, I've gotten one package in the last three years that wasn't damaged. They just don't care, at all.

Sure they do, I bet they fired the guy who didn't run over that box for not maintaining their standards.

I've accumulated a couple more NOS pieces for the Polara. The fellow had this Wheel cover but did not know the application. He didn't mention it had never been installed on anything. I have three very nice ones now and fishing for a forth.

I have a new radio plate for a 68. Difference from a 67 is just the argent paint in the center section. I was going to paint it and hope it matched. I just located a NOS 67 radio plate so will not need to use the 68. Anyone need a new 68 radio plate?

Nice find on those rubber parts, there. I've only been able to find the guards as one piece ... which I don't need and can't get myself to pay for.
Really can't wait to see this car done up!

I was happy to find them. Studs were broken on my originals. I'm coming up on having all the mechanical and electrical issues taken care of. 45 years of storage is not kind to a old car. Once it's up running and driving I can bring it home and start in on the cosmetic and interior issues. It's been a fun project so far. Getting her spit shined and polished will be icing on the cake.

A little more progress this week. The front bumper I got from SGT FURY is installed. Cleaned up pretty good and is a nice upgrade from the original. Dash is painted with the correct textured finish. I'm giving it some time to cure before assembling.
I took 6 rounds out of the torsion bar adjustment to bring the front down to a more correct height. Apparently the front was raised to match the rear height with the extended shackles that were on the car. Several details items were taken care of too.
The Oregon license plate is the original, assigned to this car in Sept 1967. I have every year registration slip from 67 through Sept 74.

That's a beautiful car sir! I believe I have a rechromeable front bumper for mine bit it lacks the bumper guard holes.

Wil: The car looks terrific! That old paint came out really nice.

Very cool. I'll be doing the same thing. :)
