Made time during my time away found a new car museum in Memphis, right by Sun recoding studio. It is devoted to american muscle. Corvettes, mustang, Avanti, and Challenger. Nice examples of the different models. Nice presentation as well. Yes there are pictures

Wasn't the Avanti what really started the Pony car (front longer than rear) craze?

There were many European sporty cars that had long hoods and a short "boot", as the MGs were, in the '50s. The Studebaker Hawk, '63 Buick Riviera, and '57 Corvettes had something of that proportion, too, but it was the 1964 1/2 Mustang that popularized it, due to the sales volumes that car rose to. That Mustang was the first "pony car", quickly followed by the Plymouth Barracuda, with the Camaro/Firebird coming a few years later.

Nice variety of the collection. Thanks for posting!

So These cars should actually be called fish cars instead of Pony cars.
