that colors is plain gorgeous ... Being an anti-woodgrain guy I´d say it´ll look better without
but since it was factory I agree it should be on the car when finished

Congratulations on the car! That's always exciting!
I'm normally a b body guy, but I've gotten into wagons lately.

Good idea on the hex, I don't think this has one, but I'll double check

I've put battery power straight to the motor, and tapped on it the best I can. Still no go.

I've gotten a lot of good ideas here, but it's appears I'll have to drop the whole regulator.. outside..in MN...

Now you’ve got me wondering how you are going to get the window opened! Afraid it sounds like you may have to put on a snowsuit and git ‘er done. Sometimes the hard way is the only option. Start your own thread and post pics! Then leave a link here...

It’s a lovely color to cover up, but the quandary is: do I want it to be period correct/true to original...?

I do have a thread, I don't plan on looking at that part in a few days, building my own exhaust system from oriellys parts, on my back first. Wanna get that done first. My 2 ton jack has a hard time lifting it

I'll link it when I get a chance to look at it again. I just can't understand that there is NO WAY to manually roll it down

Don't have alot of good pics yet, car sat 30 years

Here's one of my kids washing about a 1/4 of dirt off it. Supposed 26,000 miles too! 9 pass

That is extremely cool! Low miles is great! Really like the light blue color. Looks solid.

That thing does look damn nice!

The senior painter really liked the color too. He pointed out how you can look directly at the surface and it just looks like a solid color, but when you look at an angle, the sunlight hits the very light/fine metal flake & reflects and adds just a bit of shine. He has done SEMA show bikes, too, so he notices stuff like that. Once he pointed that out, I thought, “oh, he just explained...that’s why I like this!”

Next is body trim, A/C, and interior.

Thanks. Paint and body work is expensive, but it’s worth it. I want to drive the car now, I don’t want it to be a garage/trailer queen. These cars are rolling monuments to American engineering and manufacturing, and people need to see them being used as they were designed.

I saw you mention you are wanting to go back with the woodgrain. I thought I would include a few sites that may be able to help, or at least help direct you to someone who can. I used to own a 1970 Chevrolet Kingswood Estate wagon that had the woodgrain. Good luck and keep up the good work!

Still can’t get over the shine. I put on the front turn signal indicator lenses, hubcaps, and the rocker panel trim.

Now on to more mundane things. I am trying to repair the grille using chunks from a broken junkyard grille I have. So brittle...

Have to figure out how to fill in the cracks and smooth it over for paint...
