Not sure why Chrysler used that roof line for 68 model year only and only for the Newports and 300 .
Dodge and Plymouth used the roof line for both 67 and 68.
The roof line is one of the reasons I restored the BoaB..

1968 Chrysler 300. 440 engine with 107,000 miles, power windows, power seats, power antenna, working hideaway headlights, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, factory front wheel disc brakes. all the bells and whistles.
I went completely through this fun to drive car. I changed the axel fluids, flushed the transmission, lubricated drive train and window guides.

These are the new parts I installed;
Air Shocks
Rear Wheel Cylinders
Rear Brake Lines
Master Cylinder
Plugs
Wires
Points
Rear Power Window motor
Horn Relay
Horns
Head light cover relay
LED instrument panel lights
Turn signal cam assembly

All original with rust in the usual spots. The engine does not smoke on start up or heavy acceleration.

VERY nice 300 for not a lot of money...… it is a very attractive roofline, and the gold/green works well on it.
