Dennis Giese and I had a great two days with John, LeBaron 1973, here from New Zealand. Dennis and I motored up to Waupaca in Dennis's 75 Imp, met up with John and proceeded up to the twin cities in John's rental Ford Edge. Met Doc McNeedy and he gave us the grand tour of six of eight of his great Imps!! It was a sight that I will surly never whiteness again in my life time! Six massive Imperials in full frontal majesty looking out from their bays!! Doc surly must hold the world record for owning the most 72-73 Imps!! Thank you Doc for the honor to meet you and your fabulous Imps!! Thursday the three of us headed up to French Lake auto salvage and spent three glorious hours just taking in all the great old iron! We were in haven!!! I want to thank you John for including Dennis and I in this great road trip, It was great learning all about life in New Zealand in your Australian twang!

Where are the dogs???:wtf::lol:
Looks like you all had a great time, good for you!

Great to meet you guys. The Imperials are more fun out in the open and on the road. But maybe on a warmer day in the future we can burn some fuel on them together out on the Minnesota roadways.

Indeed we will, followed by a quick dental checkup.

1st photo, Dennis, me, Glenn with the beard and our one and only Doc.

To answer detmatt, Doc's dogs were smarter than us and stayed in his rather large Ram pickup, perfect for towing a car trailer plus imperial.

If anyone has an imperial in a color Doc doesn't already have he may be interested. He said a blue one would be nice, I'm sure the right car will eventually appear.

Lee looks very happy in her stall with her new carburetor, I couldn't be more delighted that she's in the hands of such a delightful fellow who can properly care for his vehicles.

I'm here in Waupaca until the 21st, then 6 days in Chicago before heading home, unfortunately I won't have the pleasure of detmatt's company as I won't get to Detroit this time. Next trip mate. Not sure about my Aussie twang, its only Americans who talk funny.

That’s good stuff.. warms my heart to see you guys meet up like that.. I know others have done the same in their travels.. I enjoy seeing it.

Funny how a “Website” can bring people together whom would otherwise may never have met.

I can’t say I’m not bummed about your latest schedule...:(

The 75 Imp belongs to Dennis, He is also a member of this forum. He drives it year round , he has it fine tuned to about 18 MPG!! I got to drive it up to Waupaca to meet up with John and I can say its one nice driving riding car with the eagle out on that long hood guiding you! He lives in Sauk City Wi. That's Dennis and the Imp in my drive Friday morning after we got back. Yes it was great getting to meet and get to know John and Doc. Dennis and I have been Imp friends for years now. He bought my first 81 Imp from me in 1993. Its still injected and he still loves it!!

Yes I agree!!

Glennb49: Thanks....It looks to have a '74 Imp grill. I've got a triple blue '75 Imp 4 door....drove it to Iowa from the SW corner of New Mexico (1400+ miles) a couple years ago and got about 16-17 and that was through Hills & Mountains. Beautiful drive till I got to Kansas.... LOL!

That's pretty darn good, My 73 Coupe in sun fire yellow, with sun roof never came close to that in the 32 years I owned it, Its now in Israel and its owner is a member here, Have not heard from him in some time! the originally teal 72 coupe and 73 sun roof 4 door are in yard in Camp Douglas Wi. Chase auto parts! the number is 608 427 6734 Carrol is the owner and he loves to visit but knows what he has and asks big $$$

Ya its almost as rusty as the red coupe with sun roof on the west coast, shown in Doc McNeedy's post! don't you agree though its one of the best yards in these parts for 60-70s!!

Wow John @LeBaron1973 you must have a secret desire to visit the coldest parts of the country when you come over the pond! Last year it was nasty cold up here and now you find cold weather in MN!

Wish we could meet up in Christchurch when we do the NZ cruise in February but the ship doesn't dock and anchors off shore so they use the tenders and with a wheelchair that is Verboten.

I love the cold weather lol. Am now at the Chicago hilton until next wed when I fly home. Do you dock anywhere in NZ like Wellington or Auckland as we may be able to come to you.

We are in both places. I will check with my cruise planner (Mrs. Doba) and let you know dates and times.
