Just looking for opinions.
I have a 67 Fury fasttop 440 commando.
Decoding the fender tags and Vin and found out it was a special order. Disc brakes and metallic blue were a few of the options.
Also the motor is an HP.
I Have Not seen many or any really so I'm wonder how Rare this Gem is?

Great looking car and looks to be original paint!

Yep! I'm keeping her as original as possible. I found the certicard but unfortunately the build sheet was mouse food. Tuned up and painted the motor, recarpeted and rebuilding the brakes now. She should be back on the road in a few weeks!

Cool car. What makes you think it’s a special order as opposed to just an ordered car?

First line of the fender tag, a "1" under the "U" would indicate sold when built, or ordered. At least on my 68. Great looking car!

The decoder I used said it was special ordered. Either way it's very special to me. Replacing a motorcycle that almost killed me. Also I haven't seen any fasttops for sale or at a show and definitely not that color. Special to me either way.

What is the code for special order in 67...…...

depends on what makes it Special Order.

it was very common for people to go to a dealer, check the boxes and actually order the car the way they wanted it. This is not “special ordered”. The car was simply “ordered”.

Special order typically referred to car built outside of normal parameters such as a color not normally offered, a non recommended color and interior combination, a car built for a specific purpose such as the Rose Bowl parade, or other conditions.

The PS23 code on fender tag. Plus the decoder said it was a special ordered car.

P is the line, Plymouth, S is the sub line, Sport Fury in this case, 23 is the body style, 2dr ht Fastop. L is the engine code, 440 / 375 hp.

In 1967 only 440 / 375 L code was in the sedan / convertibles. Station wagons got the K code 440 / 350 hp, if ordered.
