Not true, there was a 440-6 decal affixed to some 6BBL Furies.

I was thinking maybe the early models received the same emblem as the regular 440s and the later ones the decals since this 1970 magazine test report car showed the emblem:

It is more clearly shown in the article below................

Vintage Road Test: 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT – A Rare Road Test For A Rare Car

Maybe a comparison of known V code cars and production dates would reveal more.

Mr. Wheeler's car has this 440 emblem, is it wrong then, or is it because of early production?

Dave’s car isn’t wrong at all. It’s appears some cars had a 440-6BBL decal and some did not. It could be production plant dictate or later production change.

Dan’s Black and Orange V code has them too, but they were placed in the engine bay. It’s likely they were included with the dealer prep kit.

The “test”car is a Unicorn,...no other known Sport Fury was optioned like it.

Both known V-code Sport Furies that had the 440-6BBL decals (to my knowledge) are fairly early cars.

I saw the vin numbers as the dust had been wiped away. The answer to the million dollar question is........T. I remember because frankly I am unfamiliar with that engine code. It looked odd. Now I’ll get back to my regularly scheduled program.

This goes to anyone, I know the S/23 was a $66.00 dollar option to the base Sport Fury what was the GT?

I ask this because I saw/read in one of my magazines the S/23 was a $66.00 dollar option to the base Sport Fury. I was just wondering about about the GT, is my info wrong about the S/23?.
As seen on the sheet above,
PS23 @ 3379 - PH23 @ 3313 = 66
