Remember when?

I had a old industrial duty Kirby, the thing weight a ton and was louder then a jet in afterburner!
my mother had one with all of the attachments. it was so heavy that she had to get someone to carry it up the stairs for her.

I thought bathing with your new blue Jeans in warm water to make them fit perfectly was done all over the world back then.

OHHhhhhhhhhhhh. I did not know that. It all makes perfect sense now. I guess it was "a thing". To bad she didn't do it top less. Or perhaps shrinking her top to fit her breasts?

Remember. When they built vaccum cleaners of this quality. They would last for 25 years and were serviable! Look at the cord on that Kirby vacuum.
Nowdays they a 3ft cord to save on copper wire costs.
I use an old Hoover from the 60's. Very heavy, and all cast metal. The only drawback is that they no longer make belts for it that last more than a few uses.

That's because the today rubber belts are junk compared to yesterday's rubber. Ever notice how wiper blades used to last for 3 years back then. Today's are designed to last for less than 1.
The advances over the decades are to make things obsolete and disposable VS everlasting.
Here are a few more things I found in that car.
Remember when everything ended in O-matic?

Wow. If people only knew. I would love to time travel 50 years in the past and show people a I-Phone. They would freak out and have to be committed probably.
I always thought that id like to go meet my grandparents when they were young. Come knock on the door pretend to be a stranger and say hello just to get a small glimpse of the lives they lived in the tales that i hear from them.

If i could really go back in time, i would love to do that too and 1000 other things but that was just a example.

My luck, if I went back in time, I would probably kill some bug or something and change the whole course of human history, probably for the worse.

Original 'Dust Buster'!

VINTAGE GE VACUUM CLEANER HAND HELD.001.jpg

I had one of these for many years, dump find I guess, completely went through it, cleaned & lube it, polished the aluminum, bag & brush were in great shape, the only thing I replaced was the cord and plug.

Ah yes. The old darkroom timers.
I never used one as the only thing I did in the dark room was slit rolls of foto paper to send to our foto lab. I seem to remember old junk like that lying around 30 years ago.
No need for anything like that these days. No more film and fully digital printing.
