Summer of 69

Yes Mark. It is one of the tunnels on the turnpike. I don't remember which one it is, That was 50 years ago. A bunch of the racers from Detroit would caravan to and from some of the tracks to the east. A lot of trips to York US 30 dragway.

Wil: I love these pictures. Its almost like I was standing there with you. My wife-to-be and I had our first date at York US 30 Dragaway in 1962. We went to see the motorcycles race, but the big event (unbeknowst to us) that night was Art Arfons and The Green Monster. I will never forget it.

As others have mentioned: Thank you for your service in Viet Nam. Although I didn't serve there, I was involved in a much smaller way writing software to locate and interdict north Vietnamese supply convoys along the Ho-Chi Min trail. Thanks again.

In a sense, we served together Rip. I was in a recon platoon that followed up on intel received from folks like you. It led to a lot of time in Cambodia, although our presence there was being denied at the time.

Thanks, Wil. But my service was mostly confined to safe and secure computer rooms in Gaithersburg, MD (development site) and Eglin AFB (test site) in Florida. Today I feel I was fortunate to have participated in some small way to the Viet Nam conflict. Here is a little info regarding Nakhon Phanom (operational site) where my work and the work of others on the project was put to use:
