I wanted to let everyone know (for the people that have not used them before) about some cleaning products I have recently used.
First, I want to clarify I do not have any connection or do I benefit anyway for mentioning any of the products. I just like to pass on info if it may help someone especially if it helps preserve the original parts.

The first product is made by meguiars and it is for plastic parts like plastic lenses, etc. I have included pictures for all products so you can see the before and after.

The next products are Blue Magic Chrome Polish & Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish.

I used the mothers polish first and then used the Blue Magic after that on the door scuff plates below. I have one that has been polished and one before it was polished in the picture.

One tip of caution before you use the Mothers or Blue Magic on any aluminum, be sure to use an old soft cloth, preferably terry cloth or microfiber cloths. Both products remove the oxidation and or tarnish so most likely your cloth will be ruined.

Hopefully, this may help people that may be unsure what to use on some products. I found I had the best results using the Mothers first on the scuff plates then using the Blue Magic as a final polish. Also the Blue magic works great on chrome!

I have a couple of new pictures to add for more cleaning samples.

I cleaned the front marker/turn light assemblies using the 'Plastix' and the same chrome polish mentioned earlier in this article.

Here is a picture of a before and after.

I was really lucky on the black trim around the lenses since it had a bunch of overspray from a previous re-paint. I was able to scrape the tan overspray off since it flaked right off and it revealed the black paint underneath. I only painted a couple of the rounded edges where the paint had worn off, but 98% of the black is original paint only cleaned and the overspray scraped off.

Here is the light assembly disassembled and the inside reflective part is untouched, that is how it looked when I took it apart (I was shocked).

Plastic-X is recommended for convertible plastic rear windows and did a very good job of cleaning and making the Polara's easier to see through. It will not take out deep scratches.

This is really helpful for me because although I would like to rechrome my bumpers I do not think it is in my budget this year.

Will have to give the scuff plate polish consideration!

How long does the Plastic-x last before clouding up again?

I can't remember if I used Plastic-x or another product, but it was two years before I noticed any clouding, and it was just starting to get hazy.

That's a good question. I bought the car in February and used it twice. I did the inside and outside once, then tried to take some deeper damage out a month or so later.
The rear window is still pretty clear, but I'm sure at some point I'll need to treat it again.
