Advance planning for Carlisle has me wondering who is along this route, or within 45ish minutes off the path. Checking if there are a few spots to take a break and chat along the way.

You’ll pass within about an hour and change from me when you’re passing through flint on your way to the Blue Water Bridge but maybe, just maybe I’ll be headed to Carlisle too.

I am south of Grand Forks, ND about an hour and half in Fargo.
My plan was I94 through Minneapolis, but your route looks pretty interesting.

I've done that route more times than I care to remember. It is the shortest and fastest way from Calgary to Ontario.

The last portion of your map route seems to end in Ontario around New Hamburg. Will you be going to Moparfest? If so I'd look forward to meeting you.

I’m a little farther south on I-75 at M-59. About 45 mins from your turn at Flint.
Like Matt I may be heading to Carlisle across the turnpike.

Enjoy your trip across the Mighty Mac!

I'll be leaving June 29 or 30 so I can spend a few days (length dependant on stop along the way) at my daughter's before heading down to Carlisle on the 9th. If you or anyone else in that area are going down on that day, we could drive down as a group.

I like the route you've chosen Peter. that's the way to travel. A great journey AND a great destination. I travel secondary roads through Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, (Blue Ridge parkway & Skyline Drive), on my journey to Carlisle. I allow 4 days for the 850 + mile trip, towing Connie and camping along the way.

That's a nice drive - it's the way we came home from Carlisle when we went.

If I do end up going to Carlisle, I may have to reserve a little more time and go that way. I hate the interstate between MSP and Chicago in a modern vehicle.

I wouldn't be comfortable driving that distance on the current tires on either vehicle. That said it's TBD if a set of tires are in the budget in the new year.

I'll be bypassing all that jazz when I head down to Rockford and @71Polara383's shop, before heading east again.
