Hi everyone.

I would really, really like to have an Imperial that was built on June 21, 1967. Yes that is the day I was born. What would the fender tag say for this date?

I know the date on the fender tag is not always accurate, but it's a place to start. What would the date be on the build sheet, should I find a car that still has it?

Also looking for a 62 LeBaron. Used to see tons of them for sale until I actually got serious, now they are nowhere to be seen.

Thanks everyone.

The first thing to do is confirm that date is a valid SPD. Not all days are scheduled.

That would’ve been a Wednesday and very much approaching the end of the ‘67 model year production.
You obviously have good taste in cars so best of luck on your search.

Thanks guys. Coronet I didn't think it would be that easy:steering:

I'm sure the industry made thousands of cars that day, but finding one 52 years later has proven to be a bit of a problem. I'll let you know if I find one.

This is a cool idea, and good luck with your quest.

In a similar line of thought, I'll be throwing a birthday party for my Hurst on January 25th. It'll be 50 years old that day!

Whoa watch out now, I might have learned something. Trace, I thought the build date was on the very bottom line. It is on the Valiants. Do the different plants do different things on the tags?

I looked at that car at Nelsons and he says he's only interested in bulk purchases. I only would want the one car. Maybe we could get a group together and go in with a car hauler. Although, the supercharged Packard wagon would be cool sitting next to the Imperial in my garage...

I am not an expert on fender tags by any means, but I do know those numbers on my tag are the build or perhaps "target" date...maybe it came off the line in the wee hours of the 26th....dunno. There are a number tag decoder site on the 'net. Not all of them know everything, as the site I used MyMopar - Mopar Forums & Information - 1969-1974 Mopar Fender Tag Decoder didn't correctly list the reason for the A12 code. It thought it was for 1969-only Six Bbl engine, and it's obviously not the case with my 70 Hurst. Everything else was correct, though.

68 and older fender tag the date was on the bottom line.

My GTX and I celebrate the same birthday!! Favorite car, favrit colors! Found it on a road trip on vacation. What are the chances?

My 1996 New Yorker has an SPD of May 6, my sister's birthday. That's good enough for me!

413 that is cool. Did you buy a lottery ticket when you found it? That makes sense about the fender tag, all my Valiants are 68s.

This IS a 1967 data tag.
You are looking for 621 in that location

1-9 Jan-Sep A-C Oct-Dec
So this tag = November 29, 1966

It was so darn hot out, the guys fenced dog was going ballistic, and the car was swarming with bees. I went to the door first to introduce myself. Then I took some photos and a quick scan for rust and accident damage and got outta there. I noticed the date later on, then the twilight zone music started playing. LOL

Turns out he never wrecked it and it was original paint. But hot rodded. He kept original block.

Seems like the made many cars in the fall, and not as many cars made in June.

This is my observation. From years of looking at the build dates.

Was walking through the shop and saw this 1997 D3500 on the hoist. Still putting fender tags on them back then much to my surprise....

I’m pretty sure my ‘01 has a tag and I had an ‘02 pickup that definitely had one.

I, personally, have never heard a fender tag SAY anything. You have to read them.......:poke:
