These older Lincolns did not have moonshine proof rubber fuel lines, so check to be sure it is the fuel pump that is leaking, not the rubber fuel line. Carter still makes a pump for these #15879-05276529 shows on the www.partsgeek.com website.

If fuel pump leaks, often it goes unnoticed until too late as the leak is usually internal. If you're lucky, fuel might come out of the pump breather hole, if one exists, so that you notice it before it damages the engine. Does the oil smell like gas? Do you have a sooty tailpipe?
I'm not familiar with Lincoln / Ferd fuel pumps though, so I might be blowing hot air here. Hopefully it's just the rubber hose as Dave suggested....

A buddy tipped me off that the "premium" line at O'Riley was made by Carter. Sure enough, took it out of the box, and the Carter number was stamped right on the pump! Nice score, for a very reasonable price!

i stopped at napa today and there is is made by carter of course not in stock. being only 45 years old can't understand why. since i can't see the pump form the top a/c and power steering in the way and not supposed to rain tomorrow going to get under it and look from the bottom. thought about it being a rubber hose but it is never that easy.

my 67 300 tnt lost the push rod length , cam lobe and rod wear stopped pushing the arm of the pump , i tried several mech pumps . just went electric . problem was not fixed , but it ran . and it was sold .

I was told my fuel pump. was bad when I got the car aligned, I swapped the pump, but I think it was a loose fuel hose. Now I have a spare pump.

When I put a pump on the 500, I just got whatever O'Reilly had, and I've had no issues with it, pumps nice and strong.
