I've been working on gathering the pieces to make an attachment to put on my little backhoe. I got some pieces laser cut and then had one of the guys at work weld them together.

This is sitting how it will go on the backhoe once the bucket is removed.

Yeah, it's upside down. This was after grinding the weld out with my Dremel.

I will be removing the bucket completely from the hoe. As well as the links that go up from the bucket to the end of the cylinder and the links that are horizontal in the above image. Then the attachment will go on in place of the horizontal links.

Initially I wanted to just take the bucket off, but because this is a compact tractor it would've put the hitch very close to the ground. That wouldn't have worked very well for moving my trailer around.

It warmed up a little bit so I pulled the tractor into the garage to remove the bucket and put the receiver on. It was actually pretty easy to pull the bucket.

I'm going to need two more spacers on either side of the cylinder end. I'll get them Monday.

These spacers will keep the cylinder end from walking around and causing a bind.

In true C body fashion I've got about $30 in this little project. It should make bringing in firewood more efficient.

Now you need to fab up a nice engine hoist adapter for your backhoe. :)

I've been looking at these Kubota BX's but I cannot justify 20 grand for a toy just to play in the dirt. . :(:(

@live4theking I have to ask, what is the purpose in this unit?

I was looking for an engine hoist a few years ago and thought they were over priced, so I wound up buying this:lol:. She can pick a SBC/powerglide with ease.

Try this too when you get a chance. It only takes seconds to install and It is more user friendly for many reasons.

Towing my trailer in the woods to very firewood.

In some instances I have to agree, but it would be very challenging driving a half mile or more into and out of the woods with a trailer.

Stan, nothing like pedal power.:poke:

Stan, I cannot afford $20k either. That's why I bought a 40 year old tractor.
I'm in the heart of Agriculture down here. You'd think old tractors would be a dime a dozen but they are just NOT out there. I've been looking but they are rarer than weatherstripping for a Formal.

This is the only one that I saw that old. The ad wasn't 24 hours old when I called about it. I think I looked at it the next day. Told the guy I wanted it and picked it up 2 days later.
