Back story

Received the car as a tip on a job locked up motor questionable trans suspension etc decent body/interior less headliner. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DODGE

This car is getting a 600 hp (flywheel) 5.3 build put into it hoping this will help other people who are interested with their builds haters can hate I don't care my car my build. Now that that's out of the way shall we proceed with some pictures.

Had a 72 4 door like this. It was a great car and I drove it from Texas to Boston quite often. AC was great. Nice 360 engine. Good times.

So why would you want to go to the expense of having custom-made motor mounts, headers, transmount and crossbar, GM engine and transmission, and custom driveshaft when you could build a Chrysler motor for similar horsepower for a lot less and it would be bolt in? If you’re looking for serious horsepower on a reasonable budget, 383’s engines are fairly cheap and you can buy stroker kits to convert them to 450 or 489 (496 is mislabel) in.³. Then any Chrysler 727 big block auto trans will bolt on to the back of the block and both Chrysler engine and trans are bolt on to the stub frame and trans crossmember. Plus the car will be more valuable when you sell it because it’s all Chrysler.
Stroker Kits — Muscle Motors

Of course if you really are going to put a flywheel (not torque converter)on the back of your motor, then I assume you are going to go with a 4 speed or a 5 speed manual transmission. Original Chrysler clutch pedal will be almost impossible to find for this car, so you’ll have to custom fabricate that too. However I will admit that it would be very interesting to watch you change this car to a four-speed. Best of luck with your project

I love 72 Fury: Mine

It's going to be a 4 L 80 Car I should have said flexplate the reason I'm going with GM parts is because I have them I already have a built motor I already have the transmission I can fabricate the cross member and engine mounts

It's your car, you'll do as you like, I'm out, this is too depressing to watch IMO.

i'll start. essentially the fury is a disposable shell. why bother. cut to the chase and just do the 4x. kind of a shame. that car has a nice color combo.

I'm not really looking to 4x it the interior is getting pulled though and updated seats are getting replaced etc also car was originally gold on gold

The Purists may call it blastphemy, but to each their own.
LS swaps are very common--just watch any of the boring car shows on Velocity.
Cheap and easy way modifying any vehicle.

I am more interested in your fabricating and engineering skills.
I will be following mainly for that reason when the Chevy/Mopar parts butt heads and see how you can make them work together,LOL!!

I would suggest selling any parts you are not using in this build and list them in the For Sale section of this forum. That would be very helpful to some members since 72 Fury parts are not exactly growing on trees.
Cheers!!
