As much as I would love to have this I can’t even consider what they want for this. I will continue driving what I have and enjoy every minute of it.

Somebody is smoking funny cigarettes at that price.

Dave

The reality is that the intake alone may be worth that much. A matched set up, carb, intake, linkage, fuel line and air filter housing have brought 1K, for a core. I've bought and sold several of these units in the past. They have been as rare as chicken lips for a long time now. I don't walk past a 56-62 Ply or Dodge in a salvage yard without checking for a poly 4bbl.

Agreed, that these were not very common and probably would command a premium price from some body doing a points correct restoration. That having been said, there are now after market units, some advertised on this site for less money that flow better which is where I would put my money if I wanted a 4BBL on a 318 poly build.

Thought maybe a poly dual quad set up may be worth that. My brother has one for his '66 Coronet. But not a single 4 bbl.
Thanks for enlightening, Will.

I picked one up last year off a '56 Power Pack with the original WCFB 4 brl for $200. By sure to remove the underside metal plate and check for cracks from excess heat in the bottom of the crossover. Mine was fine. Also, the new "Wind Tunnels" are now available.

That's a great deal. The kind of deal I look for...lol. There are 3 generations of the poly 4bbl manifold. 56-57 used a WCFB which was a smaller cfm carb, (about the flow of a large 2bbl). 58-60 manifolds had a larger mount for use with an AFB carb and a generator mount. 61 and 62, (last year for a poly 4bbl), did not have a gen mount and are the hardest to locate. All this is for the purest restoration folks. (most forward look restorations lean this way).
From a performance out look the aftermarket aluminum manifold is the best choice. Around the $500.00 mark. Heck... the OEM manifold alone weighs 50 lbs.

Yes. Dual 4bbl manifolds from the era are much easier to come up with than the single 4bbl units. The poly 318 Hi output, (4bbl. special cam and dual exhaust), was always a low volume option. Most just stepped up to a larger engine.

I'm sure this fellow got his setup up for a song and dance, but he knows the market.

This manifold is now on a Poly stroked to 392, thank you Gary Pavlovich, and I was told the WCFB is hardly enough cfm, and your info kinda validates that, even though the carb has been re-jetted and the metering rods updated. Just wondering if the carb would be more suited to someone doing a ‘56/ ‘57 restore, as it still have the tag showing 2530SA.

The 2530A is OEM for a 56 277 poly. The 2530sa is a service carb used on 56 and 57 Ply, Dodge and Desoto. (A indicates a factory installed carb and SA indicates a service carb). Restored with tag it's worth upwards of $500.00.
