I've always liked the big '65 Pontiacs. A guy in my town had a real nice Bonneville coupe back when I was in high school. I find it odd though, that the sporty Gran Prix has a formal roof and the luxury Bonneville has the fast back roof. I think it should be the other way around. This one looks like it came from Pennsylvania based on the old PA inspection sticker.

Tried to buy one last year from a very old gentleman who takes it out once a year. Saw him outside so I stopped and talked to him for quite awhile and he wouldn’t consider selling it. He bought it brand new and kept it in great shape. The only thing non original was the paint. Unfortunately he’s at the stage he can hardly walk so he can’t enjoy it anymore. He is going to leave it to his son so there is no hope in getting it for now.

I have a customer that's a huge Pontiac fan, I think he has 10 cars. I kind of lost track of them all, but I believe his Grand Prix is a 65.

I always liked the style of a Pontiac Grand Prix, especially the early years. Those body lines, the interior, and the powerful V8s always made them a desireable car to own.

My first and only time my Dad looked at a car was in 1977 when I was 16 yoa. It was a '65 Bonneville. I loved the style and "character" Pontiac had but it was very rusty and for that reason I said no. Dad was not too happy with me and from then on I was on my own for cars. In 1990 I found an ad in the local newspaper advertising a '69 Grand Prix with 5,000 miles for $3800. I thought it was a misprint so I called. It was real and I knew the car as the local "Skelly" I hung around and occasionally filling it up with premium. The elderly man (Gordon Hase) sold used cars at a local lot but purchased this car new from "Taber Pontiac" in Beaver Dam WI. It now has 10k on it an I only will drive it enough to run a tank of gas through it. Now its part of eclectic collection.

As far as 1965 is concerned the cleaner Catalina with the 2 + 2 Option is the most desirable for me except for the tail light Treatment, which is nicer on the GP.

The 69 is a very classy design, but they failed on that front beak IMHO.

65 Catalina: No skirts, cleaner grille, sleeker roofline.

Let's see it!

Sunday 01/05/20 I will be retiring after 33 years as a 911 Dispatcher. I hope to take off until at least this fall and can decide what to do if anything. I hope to find land to put up a building for my 12 cars and find time to take some more pictures. Maybe I can uncover it in my house garage and take a few pictures soon. Not to make excuses but my Mother died in 2018 as she was in assisted living the last six years. But she still needed items and I was first for POA on health and finances. My other part time job is an Alderman for my City for ten years. Now its time to be able to attend get togethers and family functions for those who are left (not many).

The rarest 2+2 I seen was a '64 convertible with tri-power and four speed. It was gold and sat outside for many years and I have not seen it in 30 plus years. My friend in Atlanta GA. one owned the car and regrets selling it for little to nothing.

Maybe you could bring a MOPAR to Carlisle for us to see?

Those Ponchos from 59 to 66 were beautiful. My dad had a 66 Catalina 2dr hdtp that he bought in '68, till this day it was my all time favorite car that he owned. When I was of driving age in the early '80s, I bought a 62 Catalina, 2dr hdtp that I I loved. I always have fond memories of those cars.

Did the '65's have the eight lug wheel's? I saw a '64 Grand Prix with a four speed in excellent condition at an auction that went for about 16,000$ CAD a couple of years ago. Someone got a good deal. Saw this one the other day, it shouldn't last long.

33 years! You must be incredibly patient and understanding. Thank you for your service, and I wish you a happy retirement!
