Hi, just sorting out my park brake cable. There is two small offset holes above where it goes through the floor. Does anyone have a pic of what goes in those holes? A bracket or something to hold the cable down? Its on a 65 fury convertible. Kind Regards Terry

Seems you never take enough pics because I can’t find one. its. A metal plate covered by rubber to form a grommet for the cable. There are three mounting holes in it.
I looked for a new one but couldn’t find any
So I reused what I had.

In 1970 that’s where the high beam switch bolts to, also serving as strap to hold the cable in place, but I would guess that ‘65 might have been different.

Thanks for the reply’s. I’ve just found and bought the grommet off eBay. I’ll need to source the cap but. By the looks 63-75 are the same

My repro one above didn’t make the cut. It seems to have an extra hole that the original didn’t have and I didn’t like the over moulding quality. I had to order another. Now the good one is hidden under the carpet. Go figure.

Awesome thank you.

His stuff is not cheap but when he has it may as well bite the bullet when you really need it.
Yeah that’s true. I remember a few years back before they started repoping the eyebrow trims, I asked him if he had any. He rang me the next night and turns out he had 7 pairs of them. I think I paid $150 for a pair which is what the new ones sell for now. Sadly he passed away a couple of days after I received them. His son runs the business now I believe.

Frank was a good guy, I bought a lot of stuff from him over the years and was sad to hear of his passing. Frank always loved C-Bodies and was one of the few guys that saved C-Body stuff in the 70-80s when he was buying out dealers etc. I remember talking to several large vendors that said they would load the A.B. E body parts in the truck and anything C-Body hit the dumpster to make room for "good" stuff. Like said above, not cheap but usually had what you needed, plus he was cheaper and easier to deal with than GLNOS.

Yeah I never had much issue with the prices. And he always returned my calls promptly when chasing bits over the yrs. a lot of cars are still going due to the fact he saved a lot of stuff.
