R.I.P. Neil Peart

Very sad indeed. He had battled brain cancer for nearly 3 years. He lived a very private life. I was fortunate enough to see Rush a few times over the years, the first time being '77 or '78 on the "A Farewell to Kings" tour. Neal was an amazing drummer who used every drum, cymbal, and any other percussion piece he had available. R.I.P. Neal

If ever given the chance. Get a copy of Neil's book "Ghost Rider". Its a tale of a mans triumph over tragedy and puts life into perspective.

Just heard and am saddened by this news. R.I.P..

This is just devastating. He played the drums and was the Main lyricist. So many good Rush songs to choose from. I will choose one of my Dad's Favorites.

Knew Rush when they were still a bar band in the early 70's. They did a couple Friday night dances at our high school. Back then I don't think Neil was their drummer. RIP.

Very shitty loss. I’ve seen them about ten times, owned every album. Love him or not, that guy rewrote the rules. I’ll be forever indebted to him and the rest of Rush for making it ok to be a f***n weirdo.
A great and talented man.

And thank you, Mr. Peart. Cross the River Styx. Your loved ones await you.
