Eventually putting a '71 440 into my 61 Chrysler. It has a cheap looking chrome oil pan on it.
My question is, I want to replace it with a factory pan, and don't know if I should be looking for a forward or rear sump in the pan to fit the '61 subframe.
Probably a stupid question to you in the know, but I'm gunshy after painting and putting new repop decals on my 413 valve covers only to find out they don't work on a 440.

It also has a chrome timing chain cover that's got to go too!
Will be on the hunt for both pieces.
Thanks.

See www.440source.com/oilpans.htm The 413 pan should fit the 440 but you may need to use a 413 oil pick up tube.

At this point I recommend putting a windage tray in.
Worth it.
Gain an extra 5hp and no more foamy engine oil.
