To white wall or not to white wall

The factory wheels with the wire hub caps on my Yorker need the white wall tires replaced. I put on the road wheels for awhile now with the black walls out. Should I go with the white walls back on the old steel wheels or no?
Here are 2 pictures of both wheel and tire combinations I run, the first 2 are the white walls.

What brand/size white wall tires does everyone recommend. Looks like they are getting hard to find.

Good luck scoring whitewalls in that size.
There is a thread about that.
They are out there--youi just have to look real hard-- smart like.

Based on my personal experience with two fuselage Dodges and about 4k miles in the past 2 years, I recommend the Hankook Optimo H724. Very comfortable, yet handles well both in the fast lane on the highway and on smaller, curvier roads — at least in the dry, as I’ve managed to not drive my cars in the wet. These tires scream a bit in parking lots, but not on the road. Very quiet / super comfy otherwise.

At some point an announcement was made that they’d been discontinued: Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

AFAICT, however, they continue to be made and sold.

White walls PLEASE.. I have Coppers on both my NYB’s.. my local tire shop had to search, but found them.. as mentioned! They’re out there.

Good to know the ww are still out there.
Through my work, none of my suppliers can get them anymore.
Which mean full retail pop for me,LOL!!

I would keep the road wheels on, but would add white walls. I have the Cooper Trendsetter radials on my Chrysler. Nice looking New Yorker.

I own these tires on a 1961 Chrysler without A/C. I wouldn’t buy them again. They are worn on the outside edges from cornering on the highway, not from alignment problems. I’m not autocrossing or slalom driving either. My wife doesn’t think I drive to fast, and she is pretty conservative.

They do ride nice going down the highway, smooth and quiet. I do like that quality in them.

I concur with the others - Whitewalls Please (but you can leave off the skirts [sorry LandYacht], I think the car looks so much lighter and lithe without them). If you have an America's Tire store nearby (which is where I got mine), they carry like six choices, including the Cooper and Hankook. At very reasonable prices imho.

I like the Optimos due to their higher load rating than any of the other comparable tire brands in this size. I have not had outer edge wear issues.

I just did a post on b-bodies about some Vitour whitewall tires that were recently installed on my Plymouth. Here’s some pictures.
