I followed the build of this car and am in awe of the results of your GT. And I understand that the time comes to move on. Some are driven by the passion of the vehicle itself. Others, like me and I think you, are motivated by the passion of creating a piece of art. Building a car to this level goes beyond the restoration aspect. Like an artist, once the piece is finished and the gratification is satisfied, it's time to move on to another work. A finished piece rolls over to a maintenance item. Maintenance is not on a level with creating. So, unless one has unlimited resources and space, it comes time to pass the piece on to someone else to enjoy and maintain.
Of course this is just my opinion and may be though of as BS. It just seems that putting a vehicle like yours into use as originally intended is counter productive.
It has been transformed into art and should be enjoyed as such.

Good luck with the sale.

Decals on car were satin and great pains were taken to match them up to what was originally on car....

Sir my apologies.

My intention was and is, to give a prospective buyer of YOUR car an option for the correct 3M reflective striping. The correct strip kits are not mine, and I have no financial interest it the kits.

I have not “continually shot/shoot down your car”, as you state. In fact, I have given you praise and continuous “likes” in your efforts.

I may have pointed out incorrect things or items on the car, but I certainly wasn’t attacking you or your car. Nor was I, or have I questioned the quality or amount of effort or dollars you have put into your GT.

Everything you’ve done is quite admirable.

I don’t think I’ve incorrectly assumed the stripes on your car came from the factory in satin. I believe they should be reflective gold. Which was made my 3M in 1971.

My pointing out the stripes, isn’t a personal attack on you Sir. It is just an observation, that myself, and most MoPar car collectors would notice.

It’s very likely that interested parties in your GT will be well versed in ALL things MoPar, A-body, B-body E-Body & C-body, and they may point this out while looking at your car.

As I stated in my previous post,...Nice machine and good luck with the sale.

Thank you for saving this piece of Mopar and Auto history. Simply stunning car. It always makes me sad to hear when the passionate architect of such a save has to sell.
Good luck with the sale. But it still makes me sad.

thanx .....there were long discussions between myself Paul and the fella that did the decals..in all the samples the satin came up time and time again and because of the reflective angle were more discussion's back and forth tryin to sort things out ….l wish there was another white 71 GT out there l could do a comparison on....

I rarely weigh in on these kind of things, because I'm a face to face type of conflict resolver, and I hate the written word for these kind of things... but... Fury Pursuit has apologized, first and foremost, which is good. The issue between him and Derek is resolved, and whether the stripes are reflective or not, the point is moot. It's pointless (in this forum and especially in this thread), to pick apart this car in any way. Let's keep it that way. The next owner can do whatever they like.

All of us (and I hope I speak for everyone), wishes Derek the best in this next chapter.

I would kill to just ride in this car. As a passenger, in the backseat or heck, even the trunk. So much nice!

Ha! eat your heart out, I got the pleasure to not only sit in the car, I actually got to drive it! Awsome!

What's the most one of these has sold for in the past?
They are so rare I do not think another one fully restored to this level has been sold.
So whatever he gets for his car it will set the foundation price wise for others to follow.
