I'm selling my 61 plymouth 2 door hardtop, I bought this car about a year ago for fun, its not original, the previous owner or someone before I owned it put a small block chevy with a 350 turbo trans with a 70's camaro subframe, it has a 10 bolt GM rear end. I have done a lot of work to it to make it a reliable driver. New gas tank, new edelbrock 4 barrel carb, new starter, rubber fuel lines, new alternator, new white wall tires, new dual master cyl with power brake booster, new disc brakes up front and rebuilt rear drum brakes. I know this car has been talked about here before, I did go through it, you can turn the key and drive it anywhere.

the car does need restoration, front floor pans are rusty, will need replacement floors,
rust in the lower quarters, trunk is solid, and overall a solid car. Will provide any info or additional detailed pics to anyone seriously interested.

Open to any reasonable offers, no offer is to big or too small.

I just need it gone so I can fund my 70 newport

thanks
Mike

What / how was the Camaro subframe mounted to the original Plymouth unibody ?
Was any of the unibody cut modified or removed ?

Asking to get a better understanding of what would have to be done to switch back over to the mopar front suspension set-up.

I know the "Purists" cringe about the GM underpinnings.
So what?

Up here in the rust belt the car is a perfect candidate for a summer daily driver.
Dare I say it is one step away to an LS upgrade with fuel injection?
The front stubframe will make the LS swap so simple.
As a daily, nobody needs to know what is under the hood.
Drive anywhere and get parts anywhere.

Car IS COOL, and looks great as it is.

Despite the asking price, which is a great deal,I am too far away and with 3 mopars and 2 daily drivers I have no room.

Best of luck to the seller!!

the Camaro subframe has been attached/welded to the back half of the original plymouth sub-frame which is still attached correctly to the main body.

All you would have to do if someone wanted to go back to original is to locate a stock 61 plymouth subframe, remove this one and bolt in the new one and your done.

I could live with the GM stuff for now. Just enjoy driving it as is but i would have to go back to Mopar at some point. Cool, unique Car for sure. Not a outrageous price either.

Anyone interested in taking a closer look at the Plymouth. I'm planning on taking it to the mooneyes event in Fontana CA march 14.
