The interior plastics in the back including the spare tire cover are brittle and need replacing.....does anybody sell these? A friend told me I can find a fiberglass place to replicate them but I so far no luck.

Plastic interior pieces in the rear, including the spare tire cover are brittle as heck and already have a couple of holes... does anyone make or sell those? I'm thinking I might have to learn a bit of fiberglasing or have that done

Nope. Need to find good used, which is not easy. Try contacting Wildcat Mopars in Oregon.

reproducing them would prob be expensive and have a limited market;
you might find a company that would be willing to make some up if you could guarantee an order of a certain number, a dozen perhaps.
i'd be interested so you can put my name on the list
yes, guys might need em but not be willing to spend the $,
these are not real high $ cars.
all the 69-77 wagons ive had all had degraded rear panels.
they can look good and then something touches or rubs on em and leaves a scar.
and that triggers more crumbling.
you can paint them but eventually the paint will come off as the plastic underneath degrades.
kind of like old seat foam...
i did take mine to an auto interior resto guy and he thought perhaps spraying them with a flexible coating might work but we never got around to it.
i also thought i might try covering them with soft thin vinyl held on with spray glue but have not tried as i have other cars with bigger jobs to do.

I've investigated, 3D scan/file creation, was about 7 grand. One piece to print was about 2 grand. So, the more people involved the lower unit price. Each piece Spare tire cover, forward piece, both on drivers side each of these would be about 7 grand, and per piece. These approximate prices are based on conversations with a vendor West Cost Custom used to create B pillar pieces for an handy cap accessible Chevy Suburban.

Now if your adventuresome, contact Kndigit Design in Salt Lake and find out who pulled a fiberglass mold for a Hummer H2 hood they designed. Once these folks understand your not just jackingem around they will give information, maybe make molds and make them I've talked with them about the general cost of custom rims, that look like stock rims as well, most people are helpfull

Desert Valley, Hidden Valley the other yard outside of Phoniex, have donors, all plastic was sun rotted. The yard in Boise may have one or two sets. Wildcat might, which is were I bought my replacements. I know the Blue and Tan each have the sun rot/ brittleness. The only color I've found is black, the black has better UV protection.

passing thoughts

Ha!! I had the same thought. Just an hour ago I filled an online inquiry for 3d scan and print... I'll let you know what they say. Heck, let's just buy the printer. I read today a few articles on producing the file from good quality photos... Hmmm

I contacted a guy today and sent pics of my spare tire cover... scanning into an STL file is 100.00

After further discussion, he said fiberglass would be better and faster... He's got a fiberglass manufacturer and said it would probably be 250 or so to make a mold and then each part would be about 80 bucks... My parts aren't so shot that I NEED to do this but if there is interest to share the cost, maybe some members would want to get ahold of these... mine is a 72 Suburban and I wonder if they would fit other models (that would make a broader appeal)

looks same as 69, tried looking up part numbers in Parts book, operation frustration. Do the rest have bin covers?

I believe that the plastic covers are the same from 69 -73. Plymouth's had open bins, no bin covers. Not sure on Polara and Monaco's. It may be that only the Chrysler's got the bin covers.

Suggest you contact the person who makes the reproduction C Body seat back covers and side shields in fiberglass. He also does the dash pad restorations and I can't think of his name. He might be the best person to contact to get these made.

Sounds like a good lead... I'll search a bit..if you can locate him that would be cool

Too bad you don't need a set for a 65-68 because I have a good set of those minus the spare tire cover.

Hi guys. This thread looks dormant but I need new cargo area drivers side wheel well interior cover for a 73 Monaco. It’s getting “crumbly”. If this ever gets off the ground and a new 3D or molded part has good dimensional & overall quality, I am definitely interested. The part I need is off white/beige, I think the color name code is “Parchment”.

“For Dashes Only” offer a refurbishment service but I don’t know how that would be possible.

My 73 Monaco has open bin covers. It was not maxed out on options but had plush interior and 2nd row A/C, so I’d say covered bins is T and C exclusive.

Hello All,

Although my avitar is my 67 Dart, I also own a 72 Fury Custom Suburban wagon so as I saw this thread it caught my eye. I'm just working on getting my wagon on the street( just about there) but will most likely need some sort of plastic interior parts in the future so count me in as a interested party. The more of us that voice up- the more support we'll have for each others endeavors :)

My interior is toast given my car lived in New Mexico but luckily the guy I bought it from had a entire separate interior he gave me to include a odd ceiling mounted rear air conditioner. Kinda cool but have yet to hook it up to see if it still works.

Interesting. I have 2nd row AC unit in my 73 Monaco wagon too. If you decide you don’t want yours let me know! The plastic cover bits that hide the coolant and drain lines are desirable.

Yes one day it would be nice if Year One or others would have enough business from us to justify re-tooling for re-pop interior and other parts, but so far our money does not talk loud enough.
