My 66 Monaco, newly swapped 383, paints rough, interior is too.

Could anyone let me know ways to rebuild/repair power steering and AC systems on the 66 Monaco? Are there kits out there? Anything would be a great help.

The power steering is covered in the FSM, section 19. A/C is covered in section 24.

Completely forgot I created this, and feel it needs an update.

Life has slowed me down over the 5 months I've been working on it now, so I'm not very satisfied with the progress I've made, but whatever.

So far, I've removed the carpet, got the 383 block back from the machine shop, mildly cleaned the engine bay, and made it half way through a brake swap before deciding I now want to rebuild the front suspension. Now, I'm attacking 2 destroyed lugs with full wireless drill/grinder force, 30 minutes at a time. Some pics below.

That picture of the disc caliper bracket isnt as far as I got with the brakes, I just dont have a picture of caliper and rotor mounted right now.

Did a real quick teardown of the front brakes this morning. Big plans for the coming week, suspension wise

Update. Front suspension is done done done. No idea if I'll touch the rear sus anytime soon, probably not. As I wait for my 383 to be clearenced and bored and honed etc I'm building the 727 to handle 496ci power. Just dropped the trans 20 minutes ago, not clean but also my first.

As long as that's transmission fluid and not blood, you're doing fine.

That torque converter has cast crank weights on it do not reuse it with them on there.

Sprayed the 383 after having it clearanced. I didnt know a block needs machining for the use of main studs, and may be sending it back to my machinist once more. Grrrr

Labored away on the Monacos suspension and resolved another couple probs and the front sus is finally truly dialed. Got it on the ground today, rolling it out tomorrow and turning the bay into an engine and trans rebuild station. Feels good

Is this on the drivers or passengers side...…….?

I guess you know the passengers side does have left-thread studs…????!.
( sorry , right thread ).

Damn it sits pretty, I'll have to tighten bushing and raise the suspension when the engine and trans go back in though
