Today I dug out the new sender unit I bought 12 months ago to fit. After bit of stuffing around I couldn’t get it to go in due to it bottoming out. I grabbed one of my spare tan tks which had a sender and put them side by side. They are totally different. Anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know of a supplier who carries the correct one? I’ve pulled the float from the new one and installed on my original. Hopefully it still is ok.

I had the same issue. Nigel up in Ontario, (National Moparts), was the only one who had one that would work. I do still have a couple new ones that were supposed to work but don't. The leftmost one was my original and the other two were supposed replacements.

Any chance to Frankenstein the parts off the other two to fix the original? Seems like a simple resistance/potentiometer system. Maybe it's worth a try

The original in my case has a leak where the suction line comes out the cover. Could likely be soldered or something but it didn't track level smoothly ennymore either so I thought I'd go for one of the new ones. When that didn't work it made me determined to see if anyone actually made one that fit.

I’ve used the float of the new one and I’ll see if it works. It’s probably still ok as the tank came out of a running car. One of those things where I just have bought new stuff over time and put away for the resto.
